This training document assumes that you know how to navigate your way through
Master Blast.
Overview: This document is designed to illustrate the requirements when creating a new
notification within SAP PM (Master Blast). This document is to be used as a reference guide,
to provide a clear and concise pictorial view, to better understand the process flow.
All servicing and fault reports are catered for in Master Blast and are accessed on the Plant
Maintenance screen.
STEPS ACTIONS
Type the transaction ZMB in the command field and press the Enter key or click on

Drill down to the appropriate Functional Location
or Equipment by clicking on the icon

Do NOT include the fleet number in the Task Name as this will be identified elsewhere in
the Notification.
Do NOT enter the fault number in the Task Name as this information can be captured
elsewhere in the Notification.
Do NOT enter the word FAULT, creating a Notification is identifying there has been a
fault.
Enter any other relevant information relating to the fault in the Job Details. There is no limit to the
characters used in the Job Details. The aim should be to provide sufficient information to anticipate
what needs to be done and what resources may be required.
These details will only show up on the Notification. They will not show on the Work Order, if created.

Notification Priorities:
Breakdown Duration:
When a Notification is raised due to Equipment breakdown, ensure you capture the Breakdown
Duration when creating the Notification.
Breakdown hours are calculated by the total number of hours the Equipment is not available.

Work Order Types:
PM01 – Reactive Maintenance: This order type covers all maintenance tasks that have been initiated by
the equipment failing in service and unavailable to perform the designed operation. This is classically
known as breakdown maintenance. This will include items found in prestart inspections that require the
item to be immediately taken off line
PM03 – Proactive Maintenance: Proactive Maintenance Order Type covers all activities that rectify the
condition of equipment before its functionality is lost. This includes all activity work initiated from a
preventative maintenance inspection and also includes all issues identified prior to failure independent of
what initiated the inspection.
PM05 – Non Maintenance Activities: This Order Type captures all work that doesn’t fall into the other
predefined maintenance types.

predefined maintenance types. Note: The Task Name from the
General Tab has populated in the
Description field.
NOTE: The Planned start date will automatically populate as today’s date and the Planned finish
date will automatically populate depending on the priority type you have chosen.
These dates can be changed manually to better meet the needs of the Site, as required.
