North Malay Basin Integrated Gas Development Project at a glance

The North Malay Basin Integrated Gas
Development Project involves the development of
nine marginal gas fields in blocks PM302, PM325
and PM326B offshore Peninsular Malaysia. These
fields consist of Bergading, Bunga Dahlia, Teratai,
Gajah, Melati, Kamelia, Zetung, Anggerik and
Kesumba

The three blocks are equally owned by Petronas

Carigali and Hess Exploration and Production
Malaysia, and are operated by Hess.
The project is being developed in two phases:
• An Early Production System (EPS) phase,
• A Full Field Development (FFD) phase.

The EPS phase involves the development of the

Kamelia field, which include the construction of a
wellhead platform (WHP), and a leased floating
production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

ARAMIS was requested to develop the Project Scoping and Work Plan for a fast track
execution of the EPS phase, and to provide project assurance support.

Aramis’ Scope of Work

The fast track approach encompassed by Hess entailed the cloning of an existing wellhead
platform installed in Cakerawala field with the following main modifications:

 Modify topside piping from duplex to carbon steel

 Bring the number of drilling risers from 2 to 6
 Scoping & Fast Tracking Study

 Revisit the preliminary scope of work

 Identify gaps
 Implement a Fast Track Project Delivery
of the Well Head Platform with
concurrent engineering and fabrication
 Develop a high Level Framework
required to efficiently manage the Project
for the Fabrication, Installation and Hook
up phases
 Develop a High Level Functional Project
Execution Plan
 Project Assurance

 Manage interfaces between HESS, EPCI Contractor and other involved stakeholders
 Develop and implement fit for purpose Project Assurance Plan, with Stage Gate Reviews at
the end of each Group of Activity as described in the table below:
