This position is open for Test Lead with TEKsystems for one of its client – HP, with the Hiring Manager
Smita Kelkar.

The role is open for a project called Subscription Management Platform within a division called Digital
Transformation team (DNTO) of HP.

The position is open because HP is moving its architecture overall to cloud and microservices.

Business Challenge

HP is undergoing a major digital transformation where this team is tasked to migrate all their systems to
AWS Cloud and API-led Microservices architecture. As a test lead, you will be part of a 55 member team,
in contributing to solving this business challenge.

About the Hiring Manager and Project Details:

Notes on Smita’s profile and the project she is managing:

- Smita been very new to HP, joined 6 months back. Her major stint has been with Siemens-17
years. Overall 23 years of experience.
- Started her career as a trainer in NIIT. Slowly picked up Software Developer as her career.
o Sticking profile was majorly into Build and Release, now it is called as DevOps
o Major part of management started with Quality Engineering- AT and MT, Cloud and
then Microservices.
o Now manage the Subscription Management Platform:
▪ As a R&D managers developing, deploying and mentoring, operating the SMP.
This is a core platform in HP which is responsible for generating and maintaining
the subscriptions for commercials as well as Consumer.
 ▪ SMP is a program which is driven in HPs Digital and Transformation office- DNTO
is part of Enterprise Digital Services and it has recently been merged to Business
Technology Services.
▪ Whatever is sold at HP Store it comes in the backend to SMP to manage it.
▪ All these platforms are multiple Microservices developed in java, Spring boot. Its
like an API layer.
▪ That’s’ need people who understand min API as integrations n performance is
very high and that’s where testing sphere comes.
▪ All developers are in cloud, microservices mainly on AWS. Deployment in AWS.
CICD and pipeline goes in MS Azure.
▪ It’s a complex platform. People will be exposed to DevOps
▪ For Eg: Like HP Store- We can see lot of Printers and desktops and along with
that we see Care Pack and this is managed by this SMP team. Subscirptions as
an entity is also managed by this team.

Timings, Team Size and Environment

Team Size : The overall size of the department is 55. You will be part of team consisting of a TPM, Java
Lead, Java Developers, Test Lead, and Test Engineers and work closely for end to end delivery of
requirements.

Work timings:
- Hybrid (2-3 days can login from office- But slowly-preference is WFO)
- General shift

3. Getting an opportunity to work on Scratch/Greenfield project, and transformation from legacy
monoliths to Microservices API-led cloud enablement project. This will also include supporting
the existing infrastructure.
4. Getting an opportunity to work on a global digital transformation office, driving large-scale
digital transformation initiatives.

Interview process:

Interviews:
- For QA/Java Lead and TPM: 2-3 rounds (Architect +Smita)
- For Developers and Testers: 1 Lead round, 1 Architect. If needed Smita will get involved or else
they will close with Architect ( I will get the names of interviews once we have candidates ready)
