DAILY JOURNAL
WEEK 4 (February 20-24, 2023)

20 February 2023 (Monday)

(Morning)
Time in: 7:13 AM
Time out: 12:01 PM

After signing the attendance in the faculty room, I printed the

daily journal for the 3rd week to have it submitted to our
Supervising Teacher. Then, our team had it signed by our
Cooperating Teacher along with the DTR. Afterwards, we
submitted the two aforementioned requirements to our ST.

(Afternoon)
Time in: 12:22 PM
Time out: N/A. The class was suspended in the afternoon.

The class was suspended due to non-stop rainfall; hence, I

went home and studied my lesson since I am the Pre-service
English teacher to teach the Grade 10 this week.

The very problem is the bad weather that makes the school

flooded.

I learned that inclement weather disrupts teaching-learning

Reflection process. Nevertheless, I realized that it is vital to still be
productive amidst class suspension.

Training Activities (Morning)

Time in: 7:12 AM
Time out: 12:10 PM

During the morning, I was in the library to prepare since it’s my

assigned day of teaching. There, I studied my lesson. I also
had the evaluation form and attendance sheet printed to be
given to our Cooperating Teacher. At 11 o’clock in the morning,
I entered the Grade 10’s classroom and delivered my lesson

and ended it at exactly 12 noon.

(Afternoon)
Time in: 12:50 PM
Time out: 5:34 PM

In the afternoon, my team busied ourselves in making the

headdress that will be used in the Hayag parade the next day.
We also practiced the dance/flash mob for the said event.

Most of the Grade 10 didn’t work on their assignment. They

were tasked to read the excerpt Rip Van Winkle so that they’ll
be prepared for my discussion but only five of them were able
Problem(s) Encountered to do it. Therefore, I had to do storytelling which is not part of
my lesson plan.

I realized that DLP is indeed only a guide in the teaching-

learning process. In real classroom set-up, something wrong
may happen which required a teacher to do that is beyond the
Reflection
anticipated discussion. I learned that a teacher must be flexible
in handling classroom situation that is out of control and still be
effective in delivering the lesson.

specifically the Dagliang Talumpati and Masining na
Pagkwekwento under Filipino category; and Storytelling and
Extempo-Impromptu Speech under English category.

Problem(s) Encountered No problem encountered.

I like what one of the participant in Dagliang Talumapati said.

According to him, Sining and Kultura is us. It starts with
ourselves; hence, it is our choice whether to showcase it or
Reflection not. Camarines Norte State College, our dear institution’s role
is merely to shape and mold our talents until we’re ready to
face the world as an excellent product of CNSC who are
oozing with talent, skill and glocal capabilities at large.

Training Activities (Morning)

Time in: 7:17 AM
Time out: 12:01 PM

It’s the 2nd day of 15th Hayag Festival celebration. In the

morning, after signing the attendance, I reviewed my lesson for
about half an hour since I already studied it the night before.
Then I went to main campus together with my friends to watch
the folk and indigenous dance competition. At around 10 AM, I
went back to Abano to prepare. I had Sir Arvin, Ma’am Lucille,
and Ma’am Abby assisted me. At 11 AM, I entered the
classroom and delivered my lesson. I ended the session at 12
noon.

(Afternoon)
Time in: 12:59 PM
Time out: 5:05 PM

During the afternoon, I watched the contemporary and hip-hop

competition in the main campus. I cheered and supported the
CoEd contingents.

Problem(s) Encountered Before entering the classroom of Grade 10 in the morning, it

was my plan to deliver the discussion for 30 minutes and the
remaining 30 minutes would be for the activity. However, I lost
track of time and found myself eating all the time for the
discussion alone. Therefore, I could not give them the
supposed activity for the day.

I realized that I should not assume that I can make things as

Reflection planned. I also learned to always be mindful about the time.
