Growing up, life was difficult for Novret and his sister, Sheen. His mother
does not have regular income and they only rely on farming as their main means of
living. He experienced going to school with an empty stomach and would often lack
of money to buy food during class snack time. Nevertheless, he did not lose interest
in attending classes. His mother always motivated him to do academic standings.
Novret and his sister Sheen was very attached to their mother. The family may have
experienced financial difficulties but they remained intact in a single household
Novret always wanted to help his mother, during his vacant time, he would help them
cultivate their soil in their farm. When he had a fever, Novret was not able to go to
school. He was then marked as absent by his teacher because his teacher had no idea
of what happened to him.

family members. At times, they can only share two meals a day. However, Novret’s
mother remained strong and determined in raising the level of their wellbeing. She
wanted her children to finish their studies that she would always find time to monitor
the academic needs of their children no matter how preoccupied she was in her work.
Evelyn raised her children because she wanted her children to become respected and
responsible residents of their place. All the family members are generally healthy.
Evelyn is very keen in maintaining the good health of her children. She is also
updated on the medical services offered by the government. Evelyn and his husband
are very thankful to have an understanding and helpful children. She does not want
them to work in the farm but his children would insist in helping them during
weekends. Novret had fever, Evelyn was not able to inform Novret’s class adviser
because she was very busy with her work in the farm. Novret was then marked as
non-compliant by his teacher.

neighborhoods share the same source of living. The family usually seeks medical help
in the Health station in the barangay.
