III. Problem Presented

The client seeks any help to her family to support the shortage of their daily needs.
IV. Assessment

Josephine is a widowed mother with her seven children, but her 3 son is already
married, while the other son have a live-in partner. Her daughter is currently working as a
temporary staff worker and still looking for a job, and the two was left to her. Client’s
husband died, it was shot, because of misunderstanding.

Josephine is a grantee’ of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), but she will be
terminated as her daughter will be in college. The client is active of participating the monthly
Family Development Session and her daughter is compliance in education. The family gives
more important to the program because it really helped them a lot. Client also used the grants
in addition to capital in their small business the ‘sari-sari store’ and she always saves money
for emergency purposes. She doesn’t want to be non-compliant because she doesn’t want to
regret during pay out that she will receive small grants.

The family level of well-being is subsistence; her daughter has the potential to be
employed but because of lack of experience, she find hard to get a job, for the meantime
Josephine’s daughter work as temporary staff worker to help the family in meeting their daily
necessity. Her son who is now an out of school youth, because he is helping the land where
they get food for their consumption.

The source of income of the family is only ‘sari-sari store’. It earns 2,500 monthly but
accordingly it is not stable because there are also many debtor from the store and debts that
have not been paid. This is the only place where the family can meet their needs. They have
no vices and misuse of income but still in a moment they have a difficulty in economic
situation.

As of present, they have problem in their corn crops which is now in needy situation.
Due to high prices of fertilizer, they are struggling with how to find a solution to the problem
of their corn, which is the only source of their consumption. But the family show courage and
effort to make a change in life for someday. The client, also can give to her children a
bountiful life.

VI. Recommendation

The undersigned worker recommends the client to avail livelihood program. To have
her daughter avail scholarship program and enrolled her son in ALS education. So that the
client will be in less worry when she will be terminated in the Pantawid program.
