Harnessing Nature’s Fragrance: Solid Perfume Innovations

with Pomelo Leaves

Chapter 1

I. Introduction
Perfumes are essential for every human being. Perfumes gives off fragrant scents that
is pleasant to smell. It makes a person smell good whenever and wherever they go. However
the researchers’ noticed that during travelling, there are instances that a bottle liquid perfume
can break and cause spills into people’s luggage’s. So the researchers’ concluded that it is best
made solid rather than liquid to improve travelling efficiency. The researchers’ also want to
make a solid perfume out of Pomelo leaves.

II. Background of the Study

Pomelo leaves mainly contained chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b. A highly stable

chlorophyll nanoemulsion was prepared with the mean particle size being 13.2 mm as
determined by a dynamic light scattering (DLS) method. In the world of fragrances today,
people prefer natural and environmentally friendly solutions over synthetic ones. Customers’
concern for the environment and desire for sustainable products is the reason behind this
change. Pomelo leaves are a possible alternative for solid fragrances because of their distinct
scent and ease of availability, which has drawn the interest of the researchers.

On the other hand, little information is known about the scent of pomelo leaves or how
to extract it for use in perfumes. Using pomelo leaf extracts to make solid perfumes aligns
nicely with the desire of customers for natural products and sustainability.

The purpose of this study is to close these information gaps. By learning about the
aroma of pomelo leaves and its applications in perfumes, it contributes to making perfumes in
a more natural and sustainable way. One of the researchers have observed that consumers
tend to opt for fruit scent in perfumes which was how the researchers form their hypothesize
that pomelo extract with solid perfume.
III. Statement of the Problem

Specifically aims to answer the following questions:

1.) Is it efficient for travelling anywhere?

2.) Does pomelo leaves produce a pleasant smell?
3.) What is it’s shelf life?
4.) How long does the scent last?

IV. Theoretical Framework

V. Conceptual Framework

VI. Scope and Delimitation

The scope of the topic “Harnessing Nature’s Fragrance: Solid Perfume Innovations
with Pomelo Leaves” encompasses an exploration of the innovations and advancements in
the field of solid perfumes that utilize the fragrance of pomelo leaves. This includes a look at
the craft of creating solid perfumes, how pomelo leaf scent is added to the mixture, and the
possible advantages and uses of this novel method. The discussion also explores the
sustainability of solid perfumes, emphasizing how environmentally beneficial they are and
how pomelo leaves are sourced ethically.

However, it is important to acknowledge the delimitations of this topic. Firstly, the

geographical focus primarily centers around Talisay City, Cebu. The availability and
accessibility of pomelo leaves may vary in different parts of the place, which can impact the
implementation of these innovations on a global scale. Secondly, the item does not go into
great detail on certain commercial products or brands that might use this innovation. Instead
of concentrating on specific products for the market, the idea of using pomelo leaves as a
source of aroma in solid fragrances is discussed.

Furthermore, the cultural significance or traditional uses of pomelo leaves in different

regions are not extensively explored. The focus of the topic remains on the innovative aspects
of solid perfume creation and the potential for harnessing the fragrance of pomelo leaves.
By acknowledging these delimitations, the topic aims to provide a comprehensive overview
of the innovations and benefits associated with solid perfumes using pomelo leaves as a
fragrance source, while recognizing the contextual boundaries and limitations of the
discussion.

VII. Significance of the Study

The significance of the researchers’ study is to make an efficient perfume good for
travelling anywhere. The researchers aim to make a perfume made of natural and eco-friendly
ingredients that gives off a pleasant smell. The researchers’ aim to present consumers a
connection with the richness of nature, a thoughtful response to changing consumer
preferences; it combines uniqueness, sustainability, and craftsmanship with an all-
encompassing approach to provide a fragrance experience that is in line with the values of the
contemporary beauty industry.

VIII. Definition of Terms

For common understanding of the terms used in the study, the following are
operationally defined:

Solid Perfume- perfumes in solid state rather than the liquid mix of alcohol (ethanol) and
water.

Pomelo leaves- leaves from a pomelo plant that not only does it have a great fragrance but it
is also beneficial to the human body, for the reason that it can treat sicknesses such as
prostate. It Is an efficient way to produce the perfumes because the pomelo tree produces a lot
of leaves.
