Phần 1: Who the person is

When mentioning about/ When it comes to… (nói lại đề hoặc tốt hơn là
paraphrase), the first one that springs to my mind is…(name)

E.g.: When mentioning about/ When it comes to a person who is very close to
me, the first one that springs to my mind is my mother. (Khi nhắc đến / Khi
nhắc đến một người rất thân thiết với mình, người đầu tiên trong tâm trí tôi là
mẹ.)

To start with I’d like to talk about…(name) whom I deeply admire/ have
great admiration.

To begin with I’m going to tell you about…(name) whom I deeply admire/

E.g.: To begin with I’m going to tell you about Celine Dion, a singer whom I

Phần 2: How you knew this person

Trong phần này, khi nhắc đến việc chúng ta gặp hay biết người đó như thế
nào, bạn cũng nên miêu tả về ngoại hình của người đó, tuy nhiên không cần
phải đi vào chi tiết quá. Vietop gợi ý cho bạn mẫu câu như sau:

 I remember vividly: tôi nhớ rất rõ
Sau đó bạn sẽ đi vào việc kể lại ngắn gọn (2 đến 3 câu) tình huống mình gặp
người đó, hoặc thân thiết với người đó.

She was a good-looking girl, with dark eyes and long red hair. (Nếu tôi

Phần 3: What kind of person he/ she is
Để nói về tính cách của người đó, bạn có thể dùng các mẫu câu như:

What I would like to say that I think he/she is…: Tôi muốn nói là tôi nghĩ
anh ta/cô ta…

Furthermore/ On top of that, he/ she was well-known for…: Hơn nữa /
Trên hết, anh ấy / cô ấy còn nổi tiếng vì…

E.g.: What I would like to say that I think Amy is really smart and quick-witted,
with a good sense of humor. (Tôi muốn nói rằng tôi nghĩ cô ấy thực sự thông
minh và nhanh trí, có khiếu hài hước.)

Phần 4: How do you feel about him/her

Vietop gợi ý đến các bạn một số mẫu câu như sau:

Describe a person you admire
You should say:

 Who he/she is

 What characteristics this person has
 And explain why you admire this person
When it comes to a person that I admire, I would like to talk about such a
wonderful cousin that I am glad to have in my family.

My cousin is 5 years older than me, he is quite tall with bright brown
eyes. Since school time he has been famous among the students, not only
because of his intelligence and confidence but also his supportive, cheerful
personality. The COVID-19 pandemic broke out right after he graduated from
medical university, thus my cousin, without hesitation, signed up to be the
voluntary doctor of a quarantine camp.

As you may know, it was like the darkest time in Vietnam, but my cousin
still maintained his positivity and helped people by advising them about their
illnesses and how to improve their situations.

Not only do I admire my cousin because he is a doctor who is always there to

serve people in their needs regardless of time and financial abilities, but I also
love his optimistic mindset. Even though we don’t see each other as much
as we used to, I really appreciate our wonderful relationship.

To talk about a person that I am close to, the first one that springs to my mind
is always my sister.

As she is 2 years older than me, my sister is

a thoughtful and considerate person. She has been taking care of me since
we were young and till now. Even though sometimes we fight like cats and
dogs, both verbally and physically, we share our interests with each other,
career plans, and good or bad experiences.

Being the oldest child in the family means that my sister always has
to act extremely mature and intellectual. She is a constant reminder that I
must put my best foot forward in whatever I do. She always cheers me up,
gives me pieces of valuable advice and encourages me to look on the bright
side every time I feel depressed.

I guess there must be pressure at her workplace and I know she has to work
really hard to support the whole family but I can hardly hear her complain.
Her determination and strong-willed characteristics have set a good
example for me and that is also the thing that I have to remind myself, that I
can be such a wonderful person like her.

To be honest, I always think that among everyone in my whole life, my sister

is the only one that I can rely on and trust blindly.

Well, today I’m going to talk to you about my aunt… her name’s Marta and
she’s quite a character…. she’s middle-aged but has a very youthful
appearance…she’s a little chubby I suppose but not too much…she has a
friendly round-face framed by thick blonde hair…she has a
lovely complexion and she’s always well-turned out… she actually always
looks like she’s going out for the evening to somewhere special.. .there’s
never a hair out of place…

I’ve always thought she takes after someone on Tv… I can’t remember the
name now… she wears glasses and always seems to have a different pair on
every time I see her…I like the way she looks because she wears clothes that
are right for her age and manages to look glamorous without it looking like
she’s too done up…yes…I’ll be happy if I look like her when I’m her age….

Wow, to talk about the person to whom I am closest in my family, I would like
to mention my mother, who plays a crucial role in my life. She is not just my

I adore her because she is such a kind-hearted, caring and loving person in
the family. As you know, I live in a nuclear family with four members, my
parents, my little brother and me; therefore, my mom will have more time to

first person that I talk to. She always cheers me up, gives me pieces of

Moreover, my mom is also a responsible citizen and she fulfills her duty at
work very well. I guess there must be pressure at her workplace and I know
that she has to work really hard to support the whole family but I can hardly
hear her complain. Her determination and strong-willed characteristics have
set a good example for me and that is also the thing that I have to remind
myself so that I can be such a wonderful person like her.

I’m going to talk about my grandpa, who took very good care of me when I was little.

He’s 75 years old now, and he lives with my parents in ………….., which is not far from
here.

First, he’s a very knowledgeable person. He travelled a lot during his younger years. I
know he has encountered various problems, so he has lots of valuable experience and
life lessons to pass on to his children and grandchildren. I remember when I first started
learning to ride a bike, I fell off my bike several times. Every time I fell, I just wanted to
give up, but he told me, ‘No matter how hard a situation is, never give up. If you fail,
that’s okay! If you put your heart into whatever you’re doing, you can do anything’. What
he said is so inspirational and means so much to me.
Second, he’s a caring person. When I was a kid, my parents were very busy with work,
so I stayed at home with grandpa most of the time. My grandpa told me that when I was
small, I was very naughty. If I wanted something, I cried for hours until I got it. I know he
loves me very much because he often gave me what I wanted without telling my parents
about it.

Finally, he’s very kind and generous. He spends lots of time engaging in voluntary
activities such as local environmental campaigns or other community service projects.

I miss him so much, and I know he misses me, too. Although I’m quite busy with work
now, I still manage to go back home to visit him every two months.

So, if I had to talk about a person who looked after me when I was a kid, it would have
to be my grandpa.

I think I’m lucky enough to know many hospitable people who are really supportive
whenever I get into trouble. But the one that I admire most is my classmate – A – who is
one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever met in my life.

Appearance-wise, she is a pretty girl with long hair and a bright smile. Also, she is such
an outgoing girl that you can find it easy to come and talk to her even if you have just
met her for the first time.

Apart from school, she is a dedicated volunteer whose life motto is “helping is
receiving”. She has taken part in many local volunteer projects to help underprivileged
children and old people living alone at weekends. In addition, she has even joined some
fundraising campaigns to donate money for preservation of ancient historical sites. Also,
she is a voluntary individual who participates in some educational projects in which she
teaches basic math and languages for orphans.

She was the one who helped me when I first went to the university. At that time, I was
quite reserved and struggled to make friends because they are so talented and
energetic. Hau approached me and guided me to make friends with others, which really
touched me.

I remember one time when I got depressed after failing my math exam, she was the one
who lingered after class to walk me through all the problems I had and made me
confident enough to do better next time.
I’m bowled over by her efforts to give value to the community, and I also adore her for
the dedication she has in all things she does to others around.
