The program focuses on providing an early warning system, enhancing the availability, accessibility, and
utilization of reliable and timely risk information, and strengthening preparedness measures for an
effective response and swift recovery in the event of a disaster. Among the component of this project is
the provision of fifteen (15) units of rain gauges, 2 units of automated weather stations, trainings on
risk assessment, contingency planning and GIS mapping, and development of a province-level DRR
information dashboard and mobile application.
Launched in 2021, the program is currently being implemented in the provinces of Bohol, Quezon,
Northern Samar, Rizal, Aklan, and Misamis Oriental. This year, we plan to expand the program's
coverage to six additional provinces, including the Province of Eastern Samar.
For information, we recently conducted a Zoom Project Introduction and Presentation with the Office of
the PDRRMO last June 30, 2023 to initially present the concept, design, components and activities of this
project. The meeting was attended by the PDRRMO Head, Ma. Josefina C. Titong. One of the
agreements during the meeting is to present this DRR project to your office.
In light of this, I would like to request an audience with your office on July 17, 2023, 10 AM for a formal
in-person Courtesy Meeting and Project Presentation. We would also like to extend this invitation to
the PDRRMO.
