WORDS OF COMMITMENT

By JOHN PAUL M. ESPINOSA, Class 2, Batch 3

“If I were to hire teachers, I would hire for attitude and not for intelligence.” A
lovely day to everyone. I believe that my opening statement is not something that you
fail to remember for it was Ma’am Leila Areola’s powerfully inspiring words on our
opening program.
Therefore, allow us to express our commitments through an acrostic using the
word, ATTITUDE.

We, the Grade 6 teachers from Class 2, commit to:

A - Act as 21st Century teachers because our new breed of clienteles is not so fond of
the old ways. We are more than willing to learn the new ways so we can better reach
out to our learners.

T - Treat every challenge, every difficulty that may emerge in the implementation of the
Grade 6 Kto12 Curriculum as a chance to expand our range of interests and knowledge.

T - Train up our children by providing a nurturing environment that encourages a total

learning experience.

I - Instill in our kids the significance of every learning competency that we develop at
school by helping them apply these learnings in their day-to-day activities.

T - Teach from the heart because to teach with love is working without ever getting
tired, always looking forward to set foot at the school like it’s our home, and mingle with
our children, like they are our own.

U - Understand that, in our workplace, there will always be misunderstandings. But

because we are professional teachers, we’ll do our best to solve any problem or repair
any damage like learned and educated people, and not like brainless gossipers who talk
behind someone’s back.

D - Defend the Kto12 Program by conscientiously doing our job as Kto12 teachers, so
we can produce globally competent citizens that will eventually prove the disbelievers
wrong.

And E, we commit to:

Execute our duties and responsibilities with the right attitude, with the positive frame of
mind. Maybe we can start by minimizing our complaining and refusing due to our
endless reasons. A teacher with the wrong attitude will never run out of reasons to say
NO to new learning opportunities and tends to stop growing, but the teacher with the
right attitude, as long as, it’s for the broadening of horizon, he/she says YES, and just
flourishes day by day.

ATTITUDE. Thank you and God bless!

needs and wants. Gone are the days when pupils were forced to strictly follow our own
rules. This time, we and our learners create the rules.
