Dear Delegates & Faculty Members,
“Peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for
benevolence, confidence, justice.” – Spinoza
The world today is changing at a pace that was unfathomable even a few
decades ago. There is development and growth in terms of both resources and
their optimized usage. Human beings are evolving, and learning how to meet
their needs.
However, if the fulfilling of needs is replaced by trying to quench one’s greed,
conflict is unavoidable. We have seen multiple instances of abuse, exploitation
and violence in the recent past. The numbers paint a grim picture. As of May
2022, the number of people forced to flee conflict, violence, human rights violations and persecution had
surpassed 100 million. At least 13,842 deaths were associated with 12 of the world’s deadliest armed conflicts in
2021, including 11,075 civilians.
Violence, in all its forms, has a pervasive impact on societies. Violence affects children’s health, development and
well-being, and their ability to thrive. What the world needs today is peace. Peace, they say, is not absence of
conflict, but the ability to handle it by effective means.
As citizens of the global world, it is our responsibility today to raise awareness in our community about the
realities of violence and the importance of peaceful and just societies, and identify how we can pursue the SDGs
in our daily life. With this aim in mind, the theme for BDBBPS MUN 2023 is, ‘Nurturing Harmony: Peace in the
Heart of Chaos’.
BDBBPS MUN 2023 seeks to create a dynamic forum for discussing comprehensive and unified solutions,
fostering global awareness towards a harmonious and positive world. I am confident that the conference will
provide valuable insights and serve as a remarkable platform for delegates to work towards a sustainable future,
helping to improve conditions to ensure a life of dignity for all. I sincerely look forward to offering a warm
hospitality and all-encompassing support for the success of this mega event.

Education is the hub of social progress and reform. No society can aspire for advancement and
growth until and unless the seeds of education are conscientiously sown. We strongly feel that the
prime aim of education should be to facilitate the integrated growth of the younger generation so
that they strengthen their logical skills and are empowered to transform their world creatively and
critically.
It is a matter of immense pleasure to invite you on behalf of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public
School to a new Edition of BDBBPS Model United Nations 2023 on the theme “Nurturing Harmony : Peace in the Heart
of Chaos.’
BDBBPS MUN 2023 is our earnest initiative to create a platform for the young ignited minds to futuristically express the
dire need to work towards a peaceful and harmonious world by joining hands and seeking assistance to usher in an era of
change and responsibility. The theme on which active deliberation and discussions is encompassing a wide range of issues,
from promoting peaceful and inclusive societies to ensuring access to justice for all. It emphasizes the importance of effective
and accountable institutions that uphold the rule of law, foster transparency, and combat corruption. By working towards
achieving this , we pave the way for a future where peace and justice prevail, and strong institutions serve as the backbone of
our societies.
Throughout the conference, we will have the opportunity to delve into the complexities of SDG 16, analyze its multifaceted
dimensions, and propose innovative solutions to the challenges it poses. As representatives of nations and stakeholders, your
voices will shape the discussions and decisions we make during this simulation. Your expertise, diplomacy, and passion for
sustainable development will be the driving force behind the progress we aim to achieve.
At Brahm Dutt Blue Bells, we stand for giving ‘Voice and Choice ‘to Gen-now as we believe that ignited youth can bring
effective changes through their thoughtful and committed efforts. It is the youth of the nation that stands as a vanguard with
their unparalleled energy, thinking abilities, and nerves of steel to steer the staggering ship to a safer and more peaceful
location.
As future leaders, diplomats, and global citizens, the responsibility lies upon your shoulders to champion peace, justice, and
strong institutions. I wish you all fruitful deliberations, productive negotiations, and memorable interactions during this

It is my utmost honour to welcome you to BDBBPS’ first Model United
Nations Conference on the theme of ‘Nurturing Harmony: Peace in the
Heart of Chaos’. As we gather here, representing nations from around
the globe, we are reminded of the collective responsibility we bear in
shaping a better future for humanity.

Nurturing harmony is essential to build a peaceful society. It lays the foundation for progress,
development, and the well-being of every individual, mentally and socially. It is through our
concerted efforts and unwavering commitment that we can build a world where peace thrives,
justice prevails, and individuals remain resilient under pressing conditions.

We have empowered our students to think logically and debate and discuss before reaching to
any solution. We believe that BDBBPS MUN will give delegates a platform to discuss, and a
chance to think and evaluate how peace and harmony can be nurtured with respect to human
rights all over the world, by 2030. The BDBBPS MUN will keep them abreast in looking for
practical global solutions!

Esteemed Delegates,
It is with immense gratitude that we take upon the role of the Advisory of BDBBPS Model
United Nations 2023 and are pleased and honored to invite you to our First Inter-school
Edition. We feel elated to present to all of you “BBBBPS-MUN 2023” with the theme
‘Nurturing Harmony : Peace in the Heart of Chaos.’
At its core, it seeks to promote peaceful and inclusive societies, provide access to justice for
all, and build effective, accountable, and transparent institutions. It acknowledges that
peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but a state of harmony in which individuals can
thrive, communities can flourish, and nations can progress.
Peace is the foundation for sustainable development. It fosters stability, encourages economic growth, and creates an
environment where individuals can exercise their rights, pursue education, and fulfill their potential. It is a fundamental
condition for achieving all the other Sustainable Development Goals.
Justice lies at the heart of a fair and equitable society. It encompasses the rule of law, equal access to justice, and the
protection of human rights. By promoting justice, we can reduce inequalities, combat discrimination, and ensure that
everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Strong institutions are crucial for sustainable development and effective governance. They provide a framework for
transparent decision-making, public participation, and the efficient delivery of services. Strong institutions uphold the
principles of accountability, integrity, and the protection of human rights.
To advance the process, we must work collaboratively and take concrete actions. As delegates, it is your responsibility to
identify the challenges, propose innovative solutions, and advocate for policies that promote peace, justice, and strong
institutions in our respective countries and beyond.
Let us engage in fruitful debates, build consensus, and draft resolutions that address the root causes of conflict, promote
human rights, and strengthen institutions. Let us also remember that the principles of peace and justice are universal and
should guide our actions both within and beyond the walls of this conference.
I encourage each one of you to approach the discussions with an open mind, respect for diverse perspectives, and a
commitment to finding common ground. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and contribute to a more
peaceful, just, and sustainable world.

our respective nations, we bear the responsibility of shaping a world that is
harmonious, and secure for all.
We believe that peace is the absence of conflict and violence, it is not just a lofty
ideal, but a fundamental human right. It is imperative that we strive to create a
world where every individual can live free from fear and insecurity. We must
foster dialogue, understanding, and empathy, promoting peaceful resolutions to disputes, rather than resorting to
force. Together, we can build bridges of cooperation, trust, and mutual respect, transcending borders and cultural
differences.
We must ensure that the rule of law prevails, upholding the principles of equality, accountability, and impartiality.
No one should be above the law, and all individuals must have equal access to justice, irrespective of their social
status, gender, or ethnicity. By empowering and strengthening our justice systems, we can combat corruption,
promote transparency, and safeguard the rights and dignity of every person.
When there is peace and law, institutions and countries become strong with good governance, effective
policymaking, and the protection of human rights. We must ardently invest in building robust and accountable
institutions that are capable of withstanding external pressures ensuring the equitable distribution of resources.
Therefore, we must work hand in hand to develop strategies, share best practices and support each other in our
pursuit of a more just and peaceful world.
We have a firm belief that as delegates of the Model United Nations, you have a unique opportunity to make a
lasting impact on the world. Seize this moment to reaffirm your commitment to peace, justice and strong
institutions. Through the collective efforts, we can lay the foundation for a better future, leaving a legacy of

Greetings from the students of Brahm Dutt Blue Bells Public School!

It gives us immense pleasure to welcome you to the new Edition of BDBBPS Model United Nations 2023
scheduled on August 26-27, 2023.

Today, we live in a world that is rife with technological change and a revolution in the field of education as
digitalization has opened the portals of vast acquisition of knowledge and learning at the click of a mouse. The
need of the hour is to empower the youth of today to take the onus of their learning and ensure its productive use.
Such empowerment will contribute to checking the arms race, evading the unharnessed pride in power, and
driving away mutual conflicts from the face of the world.

In order to face these challenges effectively, we must strengthen the United Nations structurally and functionally.
There is now an urgent need for comprehensive reforms in the United Nations, especially regarding the
expansion of the Security Council, regarding both the permanent and non-permanent membership. The claim of
countries like India, representing as it does nearly one-fifth of humanity and with an excellent democratic track
record, for a more effective say in the decision-making bodies of the UN Should not be ignored by the world
community. Only a well-representative, democratic, and just United Nations can be effective in establishing lasting
peace and harmony, both within and among the nations.

We at Blue Bells visualize today’s youth as the harbingers of peace for a better and progressive tomorrow. The
exchange of ideas among the youth is the foundation upon which peace, justice, and institution shall be built. We
wish to present to you a platform for fruitful deliberations and collaborative work where you contribute to the
world at large.

We invite your prestigious institution, and articulate the thoughts of your delegates, on some of the most pertinent
geopolitical issues reigning globally, on August 26-27, 2023, at our school campus. Let us come together to barter
our diverse past with a harmonized future! And stand together to discuss and find solutions for ‘Nurturing

Dear Ambassadors, Diplomats, and Representatives
As the Secretary General of BDBBPS MUN 2023, I welcome you all
to the new Edition of the BDBBPS United Nations Conference 2023
being simulated on August 26-27, 2023 on the theme – ‘Nurturing
Harmony: Peace in the Heart of Chaos.’
Youth Power Up!
It is on our shoulders to look after the nature of our world, for if we
don’t do it, who will? We must all ask ourselves this question. If not
us then who? Major, superpowers of the world are facing the wrath of civil wars, hatred,
animosity, and power supremacy. It is a dangerous game that must be stopped. This can only stop
when the youth of the country are passionate, hardworking, and patriotic towards their nations
and the entire world.
This is a fight for which we must unite and work as a cohesive unit. This requires unity and the
youth has to be united as one to bring peace, justice, and inclusiveness to the institution. We must
empower and aware the youth, tell them about the Sustainable Developmental Goals, and
enlighten them to use the resources vigilantly for they are limited and scarce. We must tell them
about to take care of the future generation.
The world is in your hands. Feel the power of that. ‘’With great power, comes great
responsibility’’. Keep your heads held high dear friends, for what is about to come. This shall
serve as a golden opportunity for you all. Welcome to good research and embark on this
challenging journey!

Dear Delegates, Faculty Advisors and Future Diplomats
It is our honour to invite you to our first iteration of BDBBMUN
2023 which is taking place on 26-27 th August 2023 on the theme
“Nurturing Harmony: Peace in The Heart Of Chaos.”
I am beyond excited to be the president of a conference that
promotes educational, excellence, and teamwork principles. As the
next generation, today we have the chance to change the world,
change it into a fair, lively and graceful world bringing peace,
prosperity and security to each individual no matter the gender, race or identity.
His holiness, the 14th Dalai lama, once said: “Peace does not means absence of conflict:
differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means
and through humane ways.” This conference aims to motivate the youth to bring in their ideas to
debate, develop and engage while learning because the future is in our hands.
The aim of BDBBMUN 2023 is to present and discuss the extraordinarily lofty ideals of actuality
with reference to SDG16, peace harmony and strong institutions.
I believe in the power of youth, my friends each one of us can make a difference and together we
can make a change. Hoping for a fruitful and productive debate and wishing you all luck for a
