Brief History:

In 1814, erupted and devastated the surrounding communities. This is


what remains of the Cagsawa church, whose belfry has remained standing as
mute testimony of enormous disaster caused by flowing lava.

There are large abaca plantations on its lower slopes. There have been
more than 30 eruptions recorded since 1616.A eruptions in 1993 caused 79
deaths. Subsesquent eruptions 2000,2006,2009,2014 and 2008 forced tens of
thousands of people in nearby villages to evacuate. Mayon Volcano is located in
the Province Of Albay, Bicol Region.

Brief History:

Taal Volcano (IPA: [taʔal]; Tagalog: Bulkang Taal) is a large caldera


filled by Taal Lake in the Philippines.[1] Located in the province of Batangas,
the volcano is second of the most active volcanoes in the country, with 38
recorded historical eruptions, all of which were concentrated on Volcano Island,
near the middle of Taal Lake.

Brief History:

Mount Pinatubo[4] is an active stratovolcano in the Zambales Mountains,


located on the tripoint boundary of the Philippine provinces of Zambales, Tarlac
and Pampanga, all in Central Luzon on the northern island of Luzon.[5][6] Its
eruptive history was unknown to most before the pre-eruption volcanic activity
of early 1991. Pinatubo was heavily eroded and obscured from view by dense
forests which supported a population of several thousand indigenous
Aetas.Pinatubo is most notorious for its VEI-6 eruption on June 15, 1991.

Brief History:

Mount Arayat is a potentially active stratovolcano located in the province


of Pampanga on the island of Luzon, Philippines, rising to a height of 1,033
metres (3,389 ft). The volcano has a breached crater on its northwest side with a
smaller andesitic dome in the collapse amphitheater. There are no historical
records of eruption in Arayat and the only dated rocks are 530- and 650-
thousand-year-old basalts predating the collapse and formation of the lava
dome. An analysis report indicates that the volcano erupted over the last 2,000
years, but it is believed to refer to the volcanic activity of the volcano.

Mount Santo Tomas is a potentially active stratovolcano in the


Philippines located in the municipality of Tuba in the province of Benguet. The
mountain is part of the protected Santo Tomas Forest Reserve declared through
Proclamation No. 581 signed by President Manuel L. Quezon on July 9, 1940.

Mount Binuluan exhibits a number of active geothermal features. There
are a number of sites with strong steam emission, fumarolic activity, surface
sulfur deposits, hot fresh water springs, hot sulfurous water springs, sulfur
staining of riverine rocks, poisonous gas emissions, recent volcanic gas related
deaths (>100 in last 20 years at Batong Buhay mines alone), heat destruction of
vegetation, poisonous water, fumarole fields with new and shifting

Brief History:
Babuyan Claro has two confirmed historical eruptions: in 1831 and 1860.
The eruption on 1913 is listed as uncertain by the Global Volcanism Program of
the Smithsonian Institution while the 1917 eruption is confirmed as an eruption
of Smith Volcano. Eruptions on Babuyan Claro is determined as probably
strombolian or phreatomagmatic by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and

Brief History:
There are no imminent signs of unrest that might lead to the eruption of
Mount Apo, the head of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology
(Phivolcs) said."Right now, as we speak, no abnormal activity has been
observed. We didn't see any different volcanic activity," Phivolcs director
Renato Solidum Jr. said in a text message to the Philippine News Agency.
Mount Apo, an active stratovolcano in Mindanao, has no recorded erup it is the
highest-mountain in the Philippinetion yet.
