A. Introduction

The teacher will review the previous lesson about the safety precautions in sewing.
The learners will answer the question

Write True if the statement tells correct practices of safety precautionary measure in sewing
and False if not.

______1. Use the thimble for pushing the needle through the cloth.

______2. Use your teeth in cutting the thread.

______3. Place the sewing tools properly in the sewing box after use.
______4. Keep the sewing tools out of children reach.

______5. Place the needle or pin between the lips.

B. Lesson Proper :

Motivation

The teacher will show a picture to the class and ask them their idea.

How to Sew a Household Linen (Table Runner)

Materials:

Drafted pattern (measurement: 1.5 meter length and 12 inches wide), 1.5 meter

fabric (printed), 1 spool thread, tailor’s chalk / pencil, pins and needles

Tools: Ruler, tape measure, scissor

Equipment: Iron, ironing board

The teacher will a the clss into 4 groups. They will be sewing table runner.
The teacher will give the rubrics.

D. Generalization:

The teacher will ask the learners of what they have learned. Ask someone from
the class to summarize the steps how to make a table runner.

IV. Evaluation :

Arrange the steps in sewing a table runner by putting the number 1-10 in their proper
order.

____ Check its parts and remove hanging threads.

____ Lay the drafted pattern on the fabric.

____ Sew the hemline all around the fabric by hand.

____ Lay the fabric on the table.

____ Press.

____ From the edges of the pattern, mark the fabric with ½ inch allowance.

____ Cut the fabric.

___ Baste the hem all around to keep the fold in place.

___ To form the hem, fold the ½ inch allowance inward.

____ Pin the pattern on the fabric to keep in place.
