Swapnil:
“Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu
Gurur Devo Mahesvarah
Gurur Saakshaat Param Brahma
Tasmai Shree Gurivei Namah”
A shlok by Adiguru Shankaracharya which means Guru or the teacher
who is the actual trinity and the highest creator before my eyes, to that
Guru alone I bow my respectful salutation.
Srijan:
A very good morning to our honorable principal respected Sister
MarryAnne, our honorable administrator respected Sister Nirmala,
respected Sister Emilia, my fellow students and most importantly our
beloved and respected teachers to whom today’s program is dedicated.
On the very onset of today’s proceedings, I, on behalf of all the students
of our school, would like to wish all our teachers a very happy teacher’s
day.
Aatiksh:
The word ‘guru’, which is the Sanskrit term for a teacher, means
‘darkness- remover’. It is because of your hard work and dedication that
we as students learn and grow into a better person everyday. And by
doing so, you truly shower the light of knowledge to remove the
darkness of ignorance from our lives. You are the ones who inculcate
within us the morals and life skills which we need to sail smoothly
through the ups and downs of our lives.
Swapnil:
Today is the day when we get an opportunity to acknowledge you for
all your contributions and their importance in our lives. In India, we
Celebrate teacher’s day on the 5th of September, on the occasion of the
birthday of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was the second president
of India and a great scholar. He was passionate for teaching and was
awarded the Bharat Ratna for his contributions to the country and its
education.
Srijan:
Now I would like to request our honorable principal respected Sister
MaryAnne to please come up and garland the portrait of Dr. Sarvapalli
Radhakrishnan.

Thank you Sister.
Aatiksh:
Up next, I would request our honorable administrator respected Sister
Nirmala to please come up and light the holy candles. I would also

do the honors.

the holy incense sticks and also Sir Pradip and Sir David to do the honors.

Srijan:
No auspicious event of our alma mater is well begun without the
blessings of the almighty. Let us make the ambience holy by evoking the
Blessings of the lord for our teachers through our prayer followed by
the prayer dance.
PRAYER
Aatiksh:
It is high time that we, the students, should welcome our teachers with
the tokens and gifts as an expression of our love, gratitude and respect
towards them. I would request Priyanshu Kundu, Tiyasha Mukherjee
and Sanjukta Pakrashi of class IX and Prapti Ghosh of class X to carry on
with the proceedings.
START PUTTING TOKENS…
Swapnil:
In our ancient Indian culture, dance is considered to be one of the major
ways of offering to the almighty. Now let us witness the dancers of class
IX offering their prayer to the almighty in the form of their harmonic
and rhythmic moves.
PRAYER DANCE

The performance has rendered the atmosphere divine and peaceful. Let
us put our hands together for their mesmerizing performance.
Srijan:
Songs are a great way of expressing our emotions through rhymes and
melodies. No cultural event is complete without music. Hence, from this
peaceful atmosphere, let us delve into a sea of melody with a song from
Rajvi Bose of class VI B.
SONG BY RAJVI
That song lifted us to the perfect euphoria. Let us have a huge round of
applause for this performance.
Aatiksh:
It is high time for us to arouse our spirits by witnessing some of the bold
and dynamic moves. Therefore, following the melodious magic that we
just experienced is the western dance performance by our juniors.
WESTERN DANCE BY JUNIORS (DON BOSCO)
That was a brilliant performance. Let us make some noise for them.
Swapnil:
The keen interest of the youth of our country is nowhere without Hindi
songs. So, up next, we have a song mashup from the girls of class X
which is sure to touch your emotions.
SONG MASHUP BY CLASS X
That was a beautiful performance which really deserves a huge round
of applause.
Srijan:
Well, we could feel the energy of our juniors. It is worth looking into
what the seniors have prepared for the teachers. Let us travel yet again
to a world of energy and high spirit with another western dance to be
put up by the seniors of our school.
WESTRN DANCE BY SENIORS (DON BOSCO)
That has just flared up our stage. Let us put our hands together for
such a dynamic and energetic performance.
Aatiksh:
Well the day is not complete without some ‘desi’ moves. Now we have
another dance from the girls of class IX which is sure to amaze you.
CLASS IX DANCE (GIRLS)
That was wonderful indeed and surely compels its audience to have a
huge round of applause.
Swapnil:
The boys of class IX also have prepared some twisting and turning
moves. Up next, we have another exciting dance from the boys of class
IX, who are here to lift up your spirits once again.
CLASS IX DANCE (BOYS)
Let us make some noise for the brilliant performance.
Srijan:
The final event of the day is here. Now we will free ourselves from the
shackles of convention as we have a performance of acapella by Smarak
Singha of Class X and Priyangshu Kundu of class IX.
ACAPELLA
That performance was brilliant and needed some real skills and caliber
to be put that way. Why not encourage them with a huge, huge round
of applause!!
Aatiksh:
With this, we come to the end of our cultural program. I really hope that
the performances put up by my fellow students within a very limited
amount of time has brought about some amount of merriness in our
teachers.
Swapnil:
Now as we have moved on through the cultural events of the day. I
would humbly request our honorable principal respected Sister
MarryAnne to encourage us with her valuable words.
SISTER’S SPEECH
Thank you Sister for your encouraging words. Those words will surely
make us a better person in our lives.
VOTE OF THANKS (SWAPNIL)
With this we come to the end of today’s proceedings. First of all I would
like to thank the almighty for blessing us with this new day and helping
us to smoothly carry out the various events of the day. Secondly, I would
like to express my profound gratitude to our honorable principal
respected Sister MaryAnne for providing us with the opportunity to
express our love and respect towards our teachers. Next up, I would
heartily thank Miss Asha and Miss Leeza who have constantly
supported and guided us throughout our preparation for this day.
Nothing could have been possible without your guidance Miss. So once
again thanks a lot. Just a special mention, Miss Sarada is not able to be
here with us today due to some unforeseen circumstances. I really hope
she joins us soon. I would also like to express my gratitude to Sir Pradip
and also our worker uncles and aunties without whose effort nothing
could have been presented the way it has been. I would personally
thank my fellow schoolmates who have put up such wonderful
performances to make this day so memorable. A special thanks to
Smarak Singha of Class X who took the responsibility of presenting the
gifts for our teachers. Last but obviously not the least I would like thank
all our teachers from the very deep corner of my heart on the occasion
of teacher’s day. Whatever we are and whatever we will be in the future
is and will be because of you all. You are like our parents who give us a
new life- a life of knowledge, morals and eventually a life of success. So
once again thanks for everything whatever you have done, whatever
you are doing and whatever you will do for us in the near future. You
teach us, you build us, you give us new lives so once again a very happy
teacher’s day to you all.
Thank You.
