II. CONTENT
III. PROCEDURE
A. Pre-reading activities
Eva Cruz is called "Mrs. Shoes" by everyone. It's because she loves giving away
shoes—as gifts, prizes, rewards, and awards.
It all started when she had to wear white shoes on her grade school graduation
years ago. Her father was very sick and her mother was not earning enough money
as a laundry woman. There was no way they could afford to buy her white shoes.
With the wisdom of her father and the love of her whole family, "Mrs. Shoes" grew
up to be the generous and grateful business woman that she is today.
Let us now check your understanding. (This will be done through a cabbage game
activity)
Note: Allow the students to speak in vernacular but do encourage speaking in English. The teacher may
translate the questions, provide hints and scaffolds that will lead the students to the appropriate
response.
3. Reread the story but this time the students will be the one to read it by taking
turns. Teacher will point to students who will read the story by paragraph.
Encourage reading allowed and correcting errors subtly.
C. Post-reading
Activity 1:
Direction: The teacher will post a picture of a white shoes in the board, the
students will then provide descriptions of the shoes (words or phrases) based
on how it is described in the story.
