 NATIONAL READING MONTH CULMINATION PROGRAM

Theme:” Rediscover, Rekindle, and Relive English through Reading and Communication.”

The whole month of November is the National Reading Month, San Toribio National High School celebrates
National reading month with the theme: “Rediscover, Rekindle, and Relive English through Reading and Communication”.
The opening program was on November 6, 2023. One of the students of STNHS is one of the mystery reader and read a
story, after reading the story is asking students the lesson they have learn from the story. The whole month of celebration of
reading month was announced by the English department the series of reading month activities.

On November 11, 2023, spelling bee contest was conducted and participated by grade 7 and 8 participants every
section. The facilitator of the said contest was mam Anora M. Laurente. Three sections snatched the place. Grade 7 won
the first place, Grade 8 Humility 2nd placer and 3rd pace Grade Integrity.

Spelling bee contest for grade 8 and 9 level was held on November 17, 2023. Participants of every section were
excited and enthusiastic during the contest. Mam Charry T. Calsa from the English department was the facilitator of the
contest. The Grade 10 Hera won the first place, grade 10 Zeus was in the second place, and Grade 9 Citrine won the third
place. Essay writing contest was conducted also and facilitate by the English Coordinator Ma’am Rosalie Lopez
Quarterman. The participants were Grade 9 to 12, one participant in every section. It was judge after the said contest. The
three output was struck the most of the judges and was judge by the criteria given to them. Three winners were Janna
Morales 1st place from grade 9 blue Zircon, Darmin Jane Gasis 2 nd place, grade 9 Alexandrite, and 3rd palce from Grade 11-
Kale, Matias III Berato.

On November 24, spelling bee contest for senior level and slogan making for every section from grade 7 to grade
12. The spelling bee contest was facilitating by Ma’am Zaron Dumaolao, Reading Coordinator and Ma’am Rosalie Lopez
Quarterman facilitating the slogan making. Ever participants had showed their creativity while doing the slogan contest.
Cherry Mae Taw-on reap the 1 st place from grade 11 Kale, 2 nd place from grade 12- Turnip, Nica Ortillano, and Irish
Gonzales secured the third place.

The culmination of the reading month was fast approaching, participants and advisers prepared for the contest.
November 30, 2023 was the culmination of the reading month the different contest was compete by the talented
participants, poem recital from grade 7 and 8 level, declamation contest grade 9 to 12 level, vocal solo every year level and
literature cosplay were participated by grade year level. Learners were showcase their talents and skill during the one-
month celebration of the reading month.

“Where there is unity there is always victory”, The English department were grateful and thankful for all the teachers
who participated and gave efforts for the said celebration. To all the students who showcase their talents, STNHS teachers
were proud to all of you.
