Banner Desert Medical Center

1400 S Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202

Dear Hiring Manager,

As a dedicated individual in the Nursing field, having just earned a Bachelor of Science
in Nursing, I am thrilled to be applying for a role at Banner Desert Medical Center. I believe my
experience working in all sorts of healthcare fields with different populations, as well as my
ability to communicate and empathy fulfill the needs of this position. These skills, as well as my
educational background, and my work ethic, would enable me to be an asset to Banner Desert
Medical Center.

From January to June 2020, I volunteered with Rocky Point Medical Clinic, a club
through the University of Arizona, where I traveled to a local clinic in need. This allowed me to
enhance my skills in educating patients on health practices as I worked to address the needs of
this community. Additionally, from October to December of the 2022 academic school year, I
worked at Tucson Medical Center as a patient transporter. In this position, I was able to practice
working in an interprofessional healthcare setting and the priority of communication between
professions. In both roles, I was able to understand the importance of empathy in healthcare and
was able to exercise sensitivity as these patients went through different experiences in the
healthcare field. As I fulfilled duties in both these roles, I often made decisions and established
work priorities independently with limited supervision to collect data from over 1,000 study
participants.

During the 2023-2024 academic year, I was able to participate in over 575 clinical hours.
During this time, I was able to practice nursing roles in a wide variety of healthcare departments.
These clinicals allowed me to develop skills in therapeutic communication, assessment, priority
setting, and more. I also was able to practice collaboration between healthcare members and
family members. Finally, through these experiences, I was able to work on handling patient
workload and make sure that my work was not only efficient but fully addressed the needs of my
patients.

I believe my clinical and work experience, dedication, collaboration, and empathy would
allow me to become a cohesive part of Banner Desert Medical Center's workforce. Thank you for
your consideration. I look forward to speaking with you about how my skills align with this
position.

Sincerely,

Lea Gombert
