2018 EVENT 01

During the year 2018, I attended a school trip

to Ébano Verde, where we were told that the
path was very difficult and, in certain areas,
even dangerous. Although I knew this and had
the offer of my parents to stay home for
safety, I chose to take the challenge despite
the fact that I did not know what to expect.

EVENT 02 2019
Throughout my first semester in 8th grade, I
was constantly told that I had a natural talent
for artistic matters; therefore, I decided to look
for a more in-depth art course outside of
Doulos. As a result, I started taking art classes
in Amor a Quisqueya, becoming better at art
and polishing my already-practiced skills.

2020 EVENT 03
The very well-known COVID-19 pandemic
drastically influenced my education during
the year 2020 because I had to start taking
virtual classes at home. Since everything was
new and school information was rarely clear, I
remember sending emails to most of my
teachers daily with many questions and
preparing virtual calls to clarify my questions
regarding projects and homework.

EVENT 04
After getting used to the new virtual learning
method, I was assigned a social study project
about anxiety, which was very challenging to
complete because there was not enough
information on the assigned websites to complete
all the requirements. Therefore, I decided to
increase my knowledge of the topic on my own,
and as a result, I interviewed people who had
experienced anxiety and was finally able to gather
enough data about the topic.
EVENT 05
Near the end of the year 2020, my mother got
severely sick and her medicated pills were no
longer alleviating her headaches. I looked over
the kitchen to see if we had anything that could
help her, and when I saw a water gallon, I came
up with the idea of heating the water to press a
towel drenched in it on my mother's forehead,
alleviating the pain in her head.

EVENT 06 2021
During the first months of the year 2021, my
family and I had to temporarily move to a small
wooden house while our property was being
reconstructed, making us deal with the noise of
countless mice every night. After researching
how to get rid of mice so that we could sleep
properly, I came up with the solution of
spreading mint leaves all over the house so that
the mice would be repelled by the strong scent
of the leaves.
 EVENT 07
Before the reconstruction of my family's house
was over in the year 2021, my mother
encouraged me to help the bricklayers build the
walls of the house. Although I was very nervous
and had no experience dealing with wet
concrete and bricks, I gathered the courage to
help the bricklayers under their supervision and
feedback.

EVENT 08
During the summer of 2021, a day before I had
an emergency appendicitis surgery, I felt a
constant excruciating pain in the lower right
part of my abdomen. I realized the pain would
only be alleviated when I lied in bed on my right
side, so I used all the pillows I had to reorganize
my bed in a way that would not let me move
from that position when I was asleep,
preventing me from waking up due to the pain.

2022 EVENT 09
Half way through the year 2022, I decided to
join a very challenging Bible course in Amor a
Quisqueya, and my first task was to
demonstrate that I could memorize the
numerous books of the Bible in order. To
accomplish this task I used music to help me
memorize the books and when the day to
present came, I sang the books in order
correctly in front of my peers.

EVENT 10 2023
After participating in my class’s fundraiser
(garage sale), a lot of men’s clothes were still in
our possession. When I heard from a friend at
church that many men in prison would
appreciate some clothes, I met with my guide
teacher and this person to come to the
conclusion that the remaining clothes from the
garage sale would be donated to the imprisoned
men of our society.

EVENT 11
As I prepared for my final science exam of my
first semester in 12th grade (2023), I realized
there were certain topics about the review and
the use of a scientific calculator that I did not
fully understand. Therefore, I gathered all my
past assignments and compared, studied, and
analyzed them, and I made sure to ask sufficient
questions to my teacher in order to correctly
use the scientific calculator during the exam.

EVENT 12 2024
In January of the year 2024, I was almost done
reading the Bible completely as part of a task
assigned in a Bible course I had joined in the
year 2022. However, I was having a hard time
fully understanding every book due to the speed
of the challenge, so I decided to investigate the
origin and context of the books I least
understood after reading them in order to clear
any misunderstandings I could have had while
reading.
