Q1 PERFORMANCE Nature of Research

TASK 1 -Research Topic

Name: Score:
Grade 7-

Identifying Research Topics/Questions

1. Read each of the given areas of research in the table below.
2. Write three (3) possible research topic and its corresponding
problem or objective from the suggested areas below. You may
select only one area for all three topics. You have the choice of using 2 or 3
different areas as well.
(See the examples given in the next page)
3. You then write scientific question/problem for those topic(s) added.

Note: The research topics/questions that you will write in this

performance task do not necessarily mean that you will develop them into an
actual science investigative project (SIP).
You will be given separate instructions for the conduct of a simple
scientific inquiry later.
Directions:

feedstocks/resources such as dyes,
fertilizers, etc
3. Control of environmental
pollution
4. Conversion of wastes into
products
5. Demonstrating a phenomenon

fertilizers, etc Bougainvillea glabra flowers
Objective:
To evaluate the potential of
Bougainvillea flowers as natural
colorants
4. Conversion of wastes into products Topic:
An Alternative Hydroponics Solution

Formulated Using Coconut water, rice

wash (hugas bigas), extracts from
fermented garlic, fish entrails and
banana stalks as a substitute for
synthetic solutions in hydroponics.

Problem/Question:
What is the effect of the hydroponic
organic solution in the growth of
lettuce?

6. Food processing/development Topic:

Production of Kropeck from
Malunggay (Moringa oleifera)
and Squash (Cucurbita maxima)
Problem/Question:
What is the level of palatability and
acceptability of the developed
malunggay-squash Korpeck?
