Different Community Health Problems and Issues


1. Improper Waste Disposal
Waste improperly disposed of contaminates the soil, air, and water. This kind of human
activity would bring risks to humans, animals, and plants.
The thing we should do to eradicate this problem;
A. Observed proper waste segregation
B. Observed the 3R’s ( reduce, reuse, and recycle)
C. Limit or avoid using non-biodegradable materials like plastics, and other materials
that cannot easy to decompose.
2. Pollution
It is an adverse effect on the environment brought about by pollutants.
Pollutants a harmful substances, compounds, or energy.
Types of pollution
A. Air pollution refers to the contamination of the air that occurs harmful gases, dust,
and smoke are mixed with the air in the atmosphere making it dangerous to us
humans and animals.
B. Water pollution refers to the contamination of bodies of water usually by human
activities which can cause serious effects to us humans and animals.
C. Land pollution is the contamination of the land or soil by illegal disposal of solid
and liquid waste materials.
3. Drug Abuse, Prevention and Control
Drug abuse refers to the habitual taking of addictive or illegal drugs and substances.
A drug-free community contributes not only to peace and order but also to the good
health of each member.

4. Disease Control
 The spread of diseases is very alarming, not only in the Philippines but worldwide. In
our country, we have a National Center for Disease Control and Prevention under the
Department of Health. Aside from the existing communicable diseases, there are some
new diseases that are not controllable.
5. Peace and Order
 Offering protection to certain classes of persons who are not eligible to petition for a
protective order...
 A peaceful and safe community encourages businessmen to invest resulting in
economic growth.
6. Food Sanitation
 Is the practice of following certain rules and procedures to prevent the contamination of
food, keeping it safe to eat? The term “food sanitation” typically refers to rules and
procedures within the food industry, whether during production, packaging transporting,
or serving.

Remember! A healthy environment is essential for human health and well-being. Everyone must
help in making our environment healthy because if we have a healthy environment, it follows a
healthy life, and having a healthy life contributes to a happy life.
