I. Introduction:
- First of all, let me thank you all for coming here today. My name is Le Khanh Linh, a freshman
at the International School of Banking Academy. I am doing a research project on the topic of
dating apps and I'm particularly interested in the trend of using dating apps for adolescents.
- In the past, young men and women fell in love, dated, and got married, coming together as a
natural part of life. However, with the current era of rapid development of life, the tendency to
prefer being single, afraid to love and afraid to get married is increasing, especially among
adults. Therefore, dating services and dating applications were born and developed all over the
world.
- The participants of the research are 200 students of ISBA
- This study aimed at investigating the most popular dating apps commonly used by ISBA
students of both genders. This study aims to examine the desires that motivate their use and the
dangers they are concerned about when using it. The purpose of the study is to capture their
demand for using dating applications to set a direction to build optimal dating services.
 This research is conducted by answering the following questions:
- What are the popular dating apps?
- What are the expectations of users for the apps?
- What are the dangerous problems they face with online dating?
II. Method:
- To get the research results, this paper is done on both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- The research subjects selected to participate in the survey are 200 students from different
academic years of ISBA. Vietnamese people influenced by Eastern culture are quite conservative
and reserved in accessing and using dating apps. I have chosen the students of the International
School with the hope that you will have a more objective view when you have been exposed to
the Western environment and you will feel comfortable sharing about these fields. Most of those
chosen are between 18 and 30 years old. Participants included both males and females to get a
better overview of their love and were mostly single or dating.
- Due to the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the survey will be conducted
in an online form. The survey was conducted by filling out a prepared questionnaire related to
my three research questions. Participants will be asked to answer 11 mostly multiple-choice
questions and some questions that give their opinions and views. The survey will be divided into
two main parts, the first is to collect some basic information about them such as age and gender
then they need to answer questions related to their use of dating apps. All responses will be
recorded as data for the study.
III. Timeline:
- This is the timeline of the research. In week 1, I identify the research topic, then I define aim of
research and research subjects in week 2. Next, in week 3, I design research questions, consist of
3 questions. From week 4 to week 8, I write body of the research and write methodology.
Finally, I design questionnaire, consist of 10 questions: two questions to get information, seven
partially closed questions, one scaled question and one open question.
