Task 3. Read the paragraph below and answer the questions.

It’s true that meat is a healthy part of many people’s diets. However, there are several reasons
why following a vegetarian diet is a better choice. First of all, even though you can eat grass-fed
or organic meat, this will not lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, or other illnesses.
Studies have shown that following a plant-based diet greatly reduces your chance of getting
these diseases. Secondly, although there are many farms where cows are humanely raised,
there are even more factory farms. These are places where conditions are poor and animals are
not treated well. Finally, even though people do not need to spend a lot of money on meat,
plant-based diets simply cost less. People have saved hundreds, and even thousands, of
dollars a year by choosing a vegetarian diet. Becoming a vegetarian has benefits that impact
the well-being of people, animals, and your wallet!
