I. OBJECTIVE  At the end of the chapter, the learners will be able to apply all the
concepts regarding Communicative Competence Strategies In
Various Speech Situations
A. Content Standard At the end of the week the learners
 Recognizes that communicative competence requires understanding
of speech context, speech style, speech act and communicative
strategy.
B. Performance Standards At the end of the week the learners will be able to:
 demonstrate effective use of communicative strategy in a variety of
speech situations.
 differentiate types of speech contexts;
 explain the importance of effective communication skills;
 practice effective interpersonal skills and intrapersonal skills;
 identify strategies in effective interpersonal skills and intrapersonal
skills

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or  (5 Mins) Students will work in groups of eight and read the following
presenting the new lesson scenes.
1. Scene 1: Someone making an announcement to the public
2. Scene 2: Two small groups of people discussing something
separately
3. Scene 3: One person talking to himself
4. Scene 4: Two people speaking with each other on the phone
5. Scene 5: A reporter appearing live on screen
Students must weave the scenes together into a story. They are
free to interchange the order of the scenes.
 Students must Act out their story and present it to the class within
five minutes.
 Establishing a purpose for the  (5 mins) After the warm up, tick the column that determines how often
lesson the students practice what the statements say. Do this as objectively as
possible. They have to bear in mind that there are no wrong answers.
They can use their performance in Warm Up activity as a basis in
completing this task.(to be given to the students)

 Presenting examples/instances  (5 mins) With the same group, discuss in three minutes what
of the new lesson information can be contained in each of the following types of
communication. Fill in each box with the information needed.
 Discussing new concepts and  (5 mins) Power point presentation on types of speech context.

application or remediation community, and conduct an interview on his/her strategies in
developing his/her interpersonal and intrapersonal skills in the
workplace. Have a video recording of your interview, after
seeking the permission of your interviewee. Consider the
following in your interview.

a. Determine the purpose of the interview.
b. State the major points clearly.
c. Choose the right person to be interviewed.
d. Consider the date, time, and place of the interview.
e. Outline the interview.
f. Prepare list of questions related to your interview.
2. Interview Stage
a. Bear in mind the purpose of the interview.
b. Relax and be polite, patient, and considerate.
c. Show courtesy and respect to your interviewee. Do not give
your opinions.
d. Thank your interviewee after the interview.
