FADING HEARTS

SCENE ONE: EXT. PARK BENCH – DAYTIME

[Music Starts]
A teen aged couple found themselves nestled on a wooden bench in a
quiet park. They sat side by side, smiles gleaming from their faces.

The girl, Ruby, hair flowing in the wind, leans her head against
Jake’s shoulder. Ruby’s eyes sparkling with love and happiness.

The boy, Jake, wraps his arm around Ruby’s shoulders creating a
sense of safety, and starts drawing her closer. Jakes eyes gazed
into hers.

Both sharing headphones listening to music and the sounds of


laughter and chatter faded into the background.

They watched as the leaves rustled in the gentle breeze. Jake slowly
fades away.

[Music Ends]

Ruby is at on the bench by herself. She is looking through her phone


of pictures of them two, then decided to check his snap maps. She
receives a notification from phone calendar ‘3 year anniversary’.

Ruby starts to cry.

She decided to text her best friend saying she misses him.

Ruby then starts to walk home.

SCENE TWO: OUTSIDE JAKE’S HOUSE – DAYTIME

Ruby is walking back home, as she is walking past Jakes house, she
sees 2 people in the doorway. She realizes its Jake and a new girl.
She quickly hides behind a car on the opposite side of the street.
Jake leans in to kiss her.

[Déjà vu Effect Starts]

Ruby runs home crying her eyes out.

SCENE THREE: INT. RUBYS HOUSE – AFTERNOON

Ruby slams front door. Runs up stairs crying. Jumps in bed and
starts listening to music. Ruby opens Instagram and searches for
Jakes account. She views his story. There is a picture of him and
his new girl.

She grabs a box full of hers and jakes memories in anger and starts
to rip and burn the photos.

SCENE FOUR: INT. COFFEE SHOP – MORNING

[Music Starts Playing on Radio]

Jakes stood in the local coffee shop waiting to collect his coffee.
Will waiting his eyes scanned the room. They landed upon a familiar
face. It was Ruby, his ex, sitting at a table in the corner. She was
doing schoolwork.

He smiles.

A few seconds later he was interrupted by the barista. Jake quickly


turned around. Collected his coffee and walked out to meet the new
girl.

[Music Stops]
Jake and his new girl are stood outside the window where Ruby is
working. From the corner or her eye, she recognises Jake. She looks
away, grabs her headphones and ignores them. A tear runs down her
cheek.

SCENE FIVE: EXT. OUTSIDE COFFEE SHOP – MORNING

Jake walks outside and gives the new girl her drink and a hug.
Outside the front window that Ruby is sat at.

[Déjà vu Effect]

They start to walk away from the coffee shop. Jake looks back at
Ruby. They make eye contact.

SCENE SIX: INT. JAKE’S BEDROOM – NIGHT

Camera pans from Jake’s calendar to him in bed. He starts to scroll


through pictures of them both. Jake starts to write a message to
Ruby. When he is about to press send, he instantly deletes it.
SCENE SEVEN: INT. RUBY’S BEDROOM

Ruby receives a notification that Jake is typing. She sits and


waits. Until he stops typing and swipes off chat. She start
scrolling through pictures of each other.

SCENE EIGHT: INT. RUBY AND JAKE’S BEDROOMS – NIGHT

They both put headphones in, and both start listening to there song.

This is very suitable as there is a nice backdrop on to the river and bench’s they can sit on.

in daylight bring a reflector.

I have visited this coffee shop before. I know which table I want my actors to sit at as it matches
my story board every well.

As it’s a coffee shop it will be quite loud and I am filming a film without audio so I can add
