What is Laro ng Lahi?


Laro ng Lahi are games played across
multiple generations, usually using native
materials or instruments.

Games in the Laro ng lahi are not just fun to


play you but it requires different skills in
every games.

There are lots of Laro ng lahi or Philippine


games like:

Basagang Palayok- is a popular Filipino


street game. It makes use of one hand
underhand throw. Players should be
blindfolded.

Sipa- is the Philippines' traditional native
sport which predates Spanish rule. The game
is related to Sepak Takraw.

Luksong Tinik- is a popular game in the


Philippines. The name means “jumping over
thorns” and it involves jumping over an
obstacle.
Tumbang Preso- is a traditional Filipino
children's game. The game involves throwing
a slipper at a can or bottle, which one player -
the tayà - attempts to guard.

nowadays.

Laro ng Lahi are being neglected in this


generation due to technology but as a Filipino
let us always remember the games that is ours
and we should pass it to the next generation
