At the end of 60-minute instruction, the students are expected to:
a. Understand and appreciate the value of Festival Dance in the Philippines
b. Identify and describe the nature of Festival Dance
c. Demonstrate the Basic Steps of selected festival dance;

a game for us to energize our discussion

We will have a game called


“GIBBERISH”, this game is a language
game, all you have to do is you need to
guess a word or a phrase. I will show
you a words or phrase and you will need
to read it and constantly guess the right
phrase before the timer goes off.

Here are the Mechanics of the game:


1. You should say your group name
loud and clear if you want to guess
the answer.
2. Wait for the game master to
acknowledge you before you can
answer.
3. You should be able to give the
correct answer within 5 seconds
only.
4. The player with the most number
of points by the end of the game
will be considered the winner.

Festival dances are cultural dances


performed with the strong beat of
percussion instruments by the people
in the community sharing the same
culture. It is usually done in honor of
a Patron Saint as thanksgiving for a
bountiful harvest.

class that festival is known as a “Fiesta”
and it is a part of the Filipino culture. Each
city or province has a local fiesta. Being a
very religious cantered country, a fiesta is
commonly about the celebration of a city or
province’s patron saint or a thanksgiving
for a bountiful harvest. There is a fiesta
going on at any time in the Philippines
They are always colourful and unique. Like
most Asian countries; the Philippines is
rich in culture and tradition.
