Research Methodology

This part presents methodologies employed in this research study. It also includes the sample
size and instruments to be used by the researchers to gather data. The development of research
instrument was discussed in detailed to come up with valid questionnaire. The statistical used to
analyze the results are also discussed at the later part of this chapter.
Research Design
Quantitative approach was employed as research design for the study, Wherein all the relevant
gathered data were utilize to determine the challenges of the Grade 12 Senior High School
Students who are facing financial instability this will be interpreted using statistical analysis. The
research design is otherwise known as Correlational. The data will be gathered through surveys
to get the validity and credibility of the data that will help in accomplishing the research.
Research Locale
This will be conducted at Lao Proper, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental specifically, inside the
boundary of Looc National Highschool, The reason for selecting this location is to have a
convenient accessing on the data since this is where the researcher’s target respondent can be
founded which are the Grade 12 students.
Research Respondents
Purposive Type of sampling was employed in this study as this research required some
respondent that is experiencing financial instability. The researchers had selected 30 respondent
which are the Grade 12 students studying in Looc National Highschool
Research Instruments
Survey questionnaires contained was utilized as mean for gathering relevant data needed in the
study.
Data Collection Procedure
In the whole process of collecting data, First, The researchers sent a consent letter to the
students’ respective advisers for getting the approval then after the appointment was approved,
another consent was given each of the chosen respondent to get it’s permission to voluntarily
participate in the afternoon study then after getting the respondent approval the researchers then
provided them a survey questionnaire for them to fill up. After it, all of gathered data was
retained for the analysis
Data Analysis Procedure
In analyzing the data, Pearson’s ® was utilized in the study. This technique is a type of analysis
that measures the relationship between two variables. Connecting to the study, Pearson’s (r) will
help to to determine or measure the relationship of Financial Instability and Academic
Performance.
