Affected Assemblies: CARD-APPLICOM PROFIBUS DP; NOV p/n 10068309-001 (Legacy p/n P800000-
9686-67)
Objective
To inform customers of the obsolescence of the Applicom Profibus Module (NOV P/N 10068309-001)
and that remaining stock levels have been depleted.
Issue
The Applicom Profibus Module is no longer being manufactured due to the obsolescence of board level
components. Substitute components are no longer available. SBC’s without Brad Communications /
Applicom Profibus Module are not affected (Figure 1). SBC’s with single or dual Brad Communications
modules are affected (Figures 2a and 2b).
Solution
NOV is offering for purchase by customer replacement SBC Controllers with new Profibus Modules as
follow: an SBC Kit with one Profibus Module (NOV P/N 18425905-001) and a SBC Kit with two Profibus
Modules (NOV P/N 18425905-002), refer Figures 3 and 4, respectively.
Customers should evaluate their safety stock of “Older” Applicom Profibus Module NOV p/n 10068309-
001 and order upgrade kits immediately if additional units are forecast within the next year. No old
stock remains, and current supply chain issues have SBC Controllers delivering with 8+ months quoted
leadtimes to NOV. Customers should also consider upgrading the SBC Controllers to the current
generation Controller kit as a long term solution. The new upgrade kit requires software.
