Way forward October 2018
Moving Forward Daepung KD Samudera
(DaeDera) - OPS
1. Daepung Part
1. Business Proposal on Onshore Power Supply (OPS)
1. Product Specification
2. Propose Business Operation
1. A-Z on how this business works (people, resources, connecting power supply)
2. Standard operating procedure (meaning when the ship arrive, what to do?)
3. Charging mechanism, whats the charges on top of the standard electricity rate? (how korea do it?)
4. Cost benefit analysis (Burning Diesel Generator vs OPS)
5. Basically this proposal is telling Tuan Zul on how we going to implement it in Bintulu Port(BP) and how we can make
money
2. POC Engagement
1. Units need to be tested locally as pilot project
2. Few options can be laid out
1. Free POC – Daepung will conduct the POC, on a good faith to DaeDera in materializing the business at BP
2. POC with TnC- POC can be conducted, however if we met all specs but it didn’t materialized, perhaps some charges
can be proposed to BP.
3. Paid POC – Chargeable POC upon installation (Not recommended)
Moving Forward Daepung KD Samudera
(DaeDera) - OPS
1. KD Samudera Part
1. Engagement with Bintulu Port Authority
1. Arrangement of site visit
2. To propose commercial engagement model
1. Option 1 – BP will invest on CAPEX and managed by DaeDera, a recurring revenue for us, however there will be
some allocation to BP
2. Option 2 – DaeDera will invest on CAPEX and OPEX, higher revenue returns
3. For both Option, the asset will be proposed to be park under BP and managed by us, as to eliminate all competition
as it belongs to BP. Look at how TM and Putrajaya benefitted from Fibre ducting in Putrajaya, only TM can provide
fibre in Putrajaya
4. Option 1 has already been laid out to Tuan Zul and he’s ok with it
3. KDS will push for LOI once Business Proposal has been submitted to Tuan Zul, in fact he did mentioned about
acknowledgement during our product presentation
Proposed Business Model
1. Our Business Model would be PFI Private Financing Initiatives whereby we run the
business under Bintulu Port(“BP”) initiatives without incurring any charges to BP.
2. BP may purchase the unit, however DaeDera will be in charge in providing the services to
the client, maintenance and operation.
3. As BP will provide us the rights in providing the OPS at Bintulu Port itself, we might have
to propose a profit sharing mechanism to BP. Once we know our operating cost, then can
we propose a definitive amount to BP
4. This model helps us to mitigate competition and enable DaeDera to operate in BP for a
significant number of years. DaeDera is looking at concession model with BP
