Unit 4: Jesus’ Saving Power


Day 1: Jesus is Alive

Transfer Goal: The pupils in the long run and on their own will be able to be God’s blessings to other
people by sharing their time, talents, skills and treasures.

Essential Understanding: The pupils will understand that all of us are called to share the love of God to one
another through His resurrection.

I. Preliminaries

A. Review: Luck of the Draw

Ex. Whose pupil’s name is drawn will ask questions regarding the previous lesson
regarding the suffering and death of Jesus.

B. Activating Prior Knowledge:

Showing the picture about the Easter Egg Hunt and ask:

- When do you see these things, what event is being celebrated?

C. Motivation: Picture Analysis

The pupils will identify the situation when the people celebrate the easter and the
symbol of the egg. Why do you celebrate easter egg hunting?

- What do you feel when you go for easter egg hunting? Why?
- How do you feel when you found the egg?
- How can eggs remind us of Jesus’ resurrection?
II. Lesson Development

A. Presentation of Concepts

- Lesson Discussion based on the story “The Resurrection of Jesus”

The pupils will read the story [Math 28: 1- 10]

a. Who went to see the tomb of Jesus early on Sunday morning?

b. What did they see in the tomb when they arrived?

c. Who told them about Jesus and what was told?

· What does the Resurrection event show us?

· What does Jesus bring in His Resurrection?

· How will you share the life that you have with others?

· How do you show your gratitude to God for the gift of your life?

Give the students the statement and they will be given the printed egg drawing. They will ask to give
color when it is correct.

2. Jesus told the women to keep quiet about his resurrection
3. If we follow the teaching of Jesus, we will be raised like him by God on the last day.
4. The best way to celebrate Easter is to have peace with friends, family and attending the Mass.
5. We thank God during the Easter Mass for giving us new life in Jesus.
