1. Pursuant to Republic Act 7079, Othervise known as the Campus Joumalism Act of 1991,

as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 94, S. 1992, Which mandates the organization of the

annual National Elementary, Secondary, Or Tertiap「 SchooIs Press Conference, this o縦ce,

through the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), hereby announces the

SCheduling ofthe 2024 Division SchooIs Press Conference (DSPC) on March 23-26, 2O24.

The event will be hosted by the Municipality of Liloan, With co-hosting support from the

Municipality of Consolacion. Please see the attached matrix for the roster of activities.

2. The conference aims to:

demonstrate understanding of joumalism through skillful execution in

Various platforms (i.e. print, broadcast, Online);

recognize the role of joumalism in advocating for social consciousness and

environmental awareness;

PrOmOte fair and ethical use of media as tenets of responsible joumalism;

foster camaraderie and enrich leaming experiences through healthy and

fhendly competitions; and

PrOVide leamers opportunities to use the ski11s leamed in campus joumalism

in their future careers.

3. The Top F‘ive Disthct winners from public and private elementary and seconda重y SChooIs

are the o飾cial participants and qualifiers for the DSPC.

4. Participants are required to bring the fo11owing items:

 5. The use of electronic appliances in billeting quarters is strictly prohibited to prevent fire.

6. Curfew will be imposed in all the billeting quarters which wi皿be at 9:OO p.m.

7. A registration fbe of P200.00 wi11 be co11ected from each participant for individual and

group contests・ This fee covers expenses such as judges’honoraria, food and snacks,

medals, and trophies, Plaques, COnteSt materials’Certificates, ink’tarPaulin, SOund

system, decoration, and other conference-related expenses・ A11 expenses incuFTed by the

participants and billeting quarters shall be charged against schooI MOOEタCanPuS

joumansm, SEF, and PTA血nds, O重any funds, Subject to the usual accounting and
auditing rules and regulations・

8. Early payment of the P200.OO registration fee is required through Ms. Marites A. Peralta,

Division Cashier, On Or before March 15, 2024. Registration fees will not be collected at

the venue to optimize time for other contest-related activities・

9. Submit the attached pre-registration fom and the registration fee of 2OO pesos to Ms・

Peralta・ Please provide one copy to be presented upon registration at the venue and a

Photocopy of the official receipt・

10.The mechanics and guidelines for the individual and group contests stipulated in

Regional Memorandum No. 102 of 2024 shall be adhered to.

1 1. The guidelines for Mr. and Ms・ Presscon are attached to this memorandum. Moreover’

each district can have only one male and one female contestant from secondary schooIs.

12○ ○n Day 0, March 22, 2O24, a11 Division Technical Working Groups (TWG) and Working
Committees will convene at Arcelo MNHS at 9:OO a.m. to ensure the conference runs we11.

For more information, Please see the list of TWG and Working Committees attached
hereto,

13. The Division TWG’s first meal shall be lunch on Day O, March 22, 2024, While their last

meal shall be aftemoon snacks on Day 4, March 26, 2024.

14. The Municipality of Consolacion will host the opening program and dosing programs,

Which shall take place in SM City Consolacion・

15. School heads are advised to arrange schedule of the 3rd Quarter exam to student writers

who will be representing their respective schooIs and districts in the Division SchooIs

Press Conference. They should be allowed to take the exam before or after the scheduled

date/s as per SchooI Calendar of Activities・

16. PSDSs and SchooI Heads are instructed to ensure that no classes should be disrupted.

Classes of teacher participants in this activity should be replaced by a relieving teacher.

Otherwise, the teacher shall not attend the activity if there is no teacher replacement.

17・ Altemative teaching mechanisms, SuCh as modular instruction’muSt be implemented in

billeting schooIs to avoid class interruption・

18. Any form of plagiarism in all competitions as proven by the board of judges shall be

grounds for disqualification・

19. The decision of the Board of Judges is FINAL and IRREVOCABLE・
