Activity 2:
Play the audio of story reading till page 23 from the following digital resource.

Students will read the text by taking turns following the pronunciation and intonation pattern.
Highlight how a punctuation mark affects the intonation pattern. They are to relate the text with
pictures given along the text.
Discussion about the events, characters &vocabulary will take place.Students to underline verbs
in the text. Students to read the text again and identify ‘who said this, to whom’.
Activity 3:
Afterwards students will read the text one by one following the pronunciation and intonation pattern.
Explain the story in simple words for students’ comprehension. Encourage students to guess the
meaning of difficult words using their prior knowledge and the context; afterwards write the difficult
words and their meanings on whiteboard
