Dear Kimberly Wright,

Hi! My name is Candace Halvorson (She/Her), and I am so excited to be

joining your class as an intern teacher! I was raised on my family farm
southeast of Foremost Alberta. I loved growing up on the farm and being a
part of my family’s commercial cow calf operation. I am currently a student at
the University of Lethbridge in the Bachelor of Science and Education
combined degree program with the general major streams of math, chemistry,
and psychology. I am very excited to be working towards my Bachelors of
Education and learning how to become a great teacher! During my PS1
practicum I taught math, science and gym to an amazing grade 6 class! For
my PS2 practicum I had a very unique opportunity to teach grades 1 through 8
at a Hutterite Colony. I was able to teach all the school's students for gym and
complete an Easter craft in art along with teaching science and math for
grades 4-6!

Some of my favorite things to do are cook, bake, sew, and play board games. I
also love getting to spend time with my family and friends! I love working with
kids of all different ages through the Alberta 4-H Program. I have been a 4-H
summer camp staff the last 2 summers where I get to travel across the
province meeting tons of new kids and playing lots of fun games! I am so
excited to meet you and can’t wait to be joining your classroom!

Yours Truly,

Candace Halvorson
