The honorable of the teacher

The happy friends

Thank you for taking the time and giving me the opportunity to speak in front of you about the
distinguish between study from home and study from school.

Starting from mid 2020, we have experienced what is called "study from home" because of the effect of
the Covid-19 pandemic. The government's decision was made in stages, beginning with the closure of
schools for two weeks and ending with a decision to allow online distance learning. Study from home is
a really different experience from study at school. This time, I will discuss about the distinguish
between study from home and study from school one by one.

First, the freedom to determine the learning situation. When we study from home, we are free to
determine how comfortable and suitable situations are for us to study. This is different from studying at
school, which requires all students to be in one class. When studying from home, we can choose a place
to increase our concentration while studying, besides that we can also study while listening to music, or
while snacking to find comfort and avoid the boredom of studying.

Second, students can adapt to technology. I think this point is the most significant difference between
learning from home and learning from school. If Covid-19 didn't exist, maybe we might not have tried to
learn about applications that can be used for online teaching and learning process. In addition to being
able to adapt to existing technology, we also encourage technological development to become
increasingly rapid. The providers of online learning applications are also making efforts to continue to
develop their technology, so that all of us can carry out the teaching and learning process more
comfortably and efficiently.

Third, more time for family. While studying from home, we have a lot of free time for our family, unlike
when we study from school. We are needed to arrive at 7:00 a.m. and leave at 3:00 p.m. More time is
spent at school than at home when we study offline.

The Fourth point is active learning. When learning from school, we can interact directly with friends and
teachers who teach, whether it's asking questions, providing feedback, or just making sure the material
received. It makes us more active during learning. In contrast to when learning from home, many
interactions are limited because it is done online. Therefore, it seems that when studying from home
students are less active in following lessons.

Fifth, studying from home feels more wasteful than studying from school. This is because to use e-
learning support apps, an Internet quota is needed. By holding online meetings, watching videos of
learning materials with long durations, opening websites for learning innovation, and online applications
such as quiziz or kahoot, internet quota runs out faster. In the end, what was supposed to be an internet
quota that could be used for a month, could only be used for up to two weeks.

As a result of these differences, there are advantages and disadvantages to study from home and study
from school. As students, we definitely feel the impact of two different learnings, positive and negative
at the same time. I hope we can manage wisely how to minimize the negative impacts that exist.
Maybe that's all I have to say about the distinguish between study from home and study from school.
Hopefully what I have to say now can be useful for all of us.

The final word,

Wassalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
