A. Preliminary Activity

1.Greeting the class

Good morning class!
2.Checking the attendance
Is there an absent in our class today?

3.Checking of assignments
Okay class, please bring our your assignment and we will
check it right now.

ENGAGE
1. Drill Review the effects of force on the size of an object through a
game.
a. Call a big student (tall) and a small student in
class.
b. Ask the students to push a chair one at a time
within 10 seconds.

Question:
Who among the two students was able to push the
chair farther from them after 10 seconds?
Who exerted less force to push

2. Review
Does the size of the body affect the force to be exerted to push
the chair?

EXPLORE
Group the class into four. Form a circle and quietly wait for the
1.Motivation bond paper and marker distributed accordingly. From the word
Force write as much word that can describe it’s meaning. The
answers will be presented after 2 minutes.

2.Presentation
(Let the students present their answers)

What are the words that can describe force?

3.Pre-activity
Direction: Write Push or Pull to identify what kind of forces
are applied.

1. Throwing a ball
2. Cutting paper
3. Clapping
4. Turning pages of a book
5. Tacking a paper on the board

4.Activity Proper
Form a group of three. The first two players will stay on the
starting line and finish line, by using cardboard the students will
blow the paper boat up to the finish line, the next player will do
the same and the first group to fined the task will be the winner.

EXPLAIN A. What degree of force applied that made the paper boat
1.Group Reporting travelled from the starting point to the finish line
B. What faction do you think affected the movement of the
paper boat?

How did you fine the activity?

What strategies did you apply in order to win?

2.Discussion
A force acting on an object causes the object to change its
shape or size, to start moving, to stop moving, to accelerate or
decelerate. When there’s the interaction between two objects
they exert a force on each other, these exerted forces are
equal in size but opposite in direction.

ELABORATE
1. Generalization

Remember this!

 Force can change the position of an object.

 The greater the force, the greater the distance covered
by an object.
 Force can change the shape of an object.
 Some object return to original shape after the release of
force and some not.

2. Application
Use force accordingly, especially when we are pushing or
pulling things to avoid accident or mistakes. Even when we are
moving, we need to move appropriately to not cause
disturbance to the people around us.
