Reflection Paper

Technology has always played an essential role in every individual’s life. It

changed everything in ways that have made our life easier and much more convenient.
From the invention of the wheel to the development of modern-day artificial
intelligence, technology has affected us on how we live, work, and even play. As seen
and observed on many inventions and innovations that man had introduced, it allowed
us to work efficiently and avoid time-consuming activities. However, aside from the
advantages which greatly benefited us, being dependent to technology also has many
drawbacks

As an individual, I had always been dependent on technology. From getting

news and information about what’s happening around me through social media
platforms to utilization of electronic devices and gadgets to aid me in my daily activities
instead of doing manual work. It has been so convenient for me as a 21st century
student and individual. Regardless of how technology has helped everyone, being
overly dependent on it has a downside. Being much dependent and improper or
irresponsible use of technology promotes laziness to other people. It also involves large
costs to keep up with the latest technology that a society has. Moreover, as manual
work are aided by automated processes, there are emerging threats among the working
population such as risk of job cuts, especially our elders who are not familiar with
technological and advanced processes. Most of all, it is nature which suffers the most
from the continuous advancement of technology and modernization. Resource
depletion is one of the most common and noticeable disadvantages caused by the
technology.
Nevertheless, we must learn how to be a responsible technology user. We must
know when and in what certain instances only we could depend on technology. We
should not depend the entirety of our life on it as it could also threaten us. Accordingly,
in an old saying, anything that is way too much will do no good in one’s life.
