Name: RICHEL R. FLORES MAEE 121- Student

1. Explain the reasons why the implementation of the K to 12 curriculum is needed.
 In order for our education system cope up with other countries the curriculum
should be enhance and that is why k to 12 curriculum was implemented. It is
designed to enable graduates to join the workforce after high school or prepare
them what they should choose when they enter college. Through k to 12 students
are given enough years to master basic academic skills and participate in co-
curricular activities. It is also implemented to hone the skills of our learners which
is globally competitive and technologically knowledgeable that they can use in
their selected profession.

2. Discuss the important elements in the curriculum system of Tyler?

 The Tyler model is often referred to as the “objective model because of its
objective or unbiased approach to educational evaluation. It emphasizes
consistency among objectives, learning experiences and outcomes.
 It has four (4) principles namely:
 (1) Defining appropriate learning objectives- The progressive emphasizes the
importance of studying the child to find out what kinds of interests he has, what
problems he encounters, what purposes he has in mind. The progressive sees this
information as providing the basic source for selecting objectives.
 (2) Establishing useful learning experiences- Tyler believes that students learn
through
 exploration. Like his mentor, John Dewey, Tyler believes
teachers should encourage children to become actively engaged in discovering
what the world is like.
 (3) Organizing learning experiences to have a cumulative effect- Central to
Tyler’s Model is effectively organizing the learning activities. Students need
concrete experiences to which the readings are meaningfully connected. Three
major criteria are required in building organized learning experiences: continuity,
sequence and integration.
 (4) Evaluating the process and revising the areas that were not effective- The
process of assessment is critical to Tyler’s Model and begins with the objectives
of the educational program. The process of evaluation is essentially the process of
determining to what extent the educational objectives are actually realized by the
program of curriculum and instruction.
3. What are the benefits asynchronous and synchronous learning?
 Synchronous learning is a broad term that refers to modes of education,
instruction and learning that takes place at the same time but in different locations.
The benefits of synchronous learning were students become more engaged in their
learning because they can participate actively in the lesson through virtual
meetings, students can ask questions in real -time and students feel greater sense
of community and connection to their peers when they all learn together.
 Asynchronous learning is learning does not involve a live video lecture
component and allow students to examine educational materials at any time
during the week. The benefits of asynchronous learning were students have more
time to reflect on what they learned, shy students may feel more comfortable
interacting with the professor or peers when they have time to compose thought
out emails rather than feeling pressured to speak up virtually, students can
progress through the learning when they want, where they want at the pace they
want in order they want and students can participate in the same activities
regardless of time zone.

4. Enumerate and explain the 21st century skills of learners?

 The 21st century skills are intended to help students keep -up with the lightning
pace of todays modern markets. These skills help them to go with the chosen field.
These 21st century skills were categorized into three: Learning skills, Literacy
skills and Life skills.
 Learning Skills-teaches students about the mental processes required to adapt and
improve upon a work environment. These are the skills (1) critical thinking in
which learners may find solutions in every problem they may face in the future,(2)
creativity in which they are able to think outside the box. Learners have wide
imagination that they can create new discoveries that can be a great contribution
to our country. (3) collaboration in which they have the ability to interact with one
another to produce a better output and lastly communication it is very important to
develop this skills because through communication we can build a better
relationship to one another.
 Literacy skills- focuses on how students can discern facts, publishing outlets and
the technology behind them. The skills under in this category are (1) information
literacy the students understand facts, figures and data. (2) Media literacy students
understand the methods and outlets in which information is published. (3)
technology literacy in which students understand the machines that make the
information age possible.

 Life skills- focuses at intangible elements of a student’s everyday life. It focuses

on both personal and professional qualities. The skills under in this category was
(1) flexibility in which it requires learners to show humility and accept that they
will always have a lot to learn (2) leadership it motivates them to accomplish a
goal (3) initiative- starting projects, strategies and plans on one’s own, (4)
productivity maintaining efficiency in an age of distractions and lastly social skills
meeting and networking with others for mutual benefit.

5. Differentiate online and modular learning modality?

 Online learning it features facilitating learning and engaging learner’s active
participation using various technologies accessed through the internet while
they are geographically remote from each other during instruction.
 Modular learning modality learning is in the form of individualized instruction
that allows learners to use self -learning modules (Slms) in print or digital
format/ electronic copy, whichever is applicable in the context of the learner
and other learning resources like learners materials just like we are using right
now in this time of pandemic because our school is located at remote areas
were there is no internet connection so we are using the modular modality.

6. How can teachers localize and indigenize the implementation of curriculum?

 Teachers can localize and indigenize the implementation of curriculum
through using lesson plans that are localize and instructional materials that can
be found in the community through that we can indigenize our instruction.
 In addition to, school cannot stand without the help of the community. When
we contextualized the curriculum, school will need to have a continuing
dialogue with the community. We, teachers will need to be immersed in the
community of our learners.
 In my class, I contextualized my lessons through giving of examples that are
present in the community. For example, in this competency, visualizes and
adds the following numbers using appropriate techniques: a. two one-digit
numbers with sums up to 18. I used concrete examples like makopa instead of
using apple to show how to add numbers.

7. How can a curriculum help in solving the economy of the country?

 Curriculum has a big impact to our economy because through curriculum we
can produce a competent and effective individual who can have a great
contribution to our economy. Through education we can produce a quality
graduates who can compete to the globally standards and can solve the
different problems in our economy. Just like the saying goes by “ Education
can make someone’s lives better”
