Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Is Tasked To Train And Develop College
Students In The Rudiments Of Military Service In Order To Produce Capable Armed Forces Of
The Philippines Reservists In The Philippines Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Program
Is One Of The Avenues Through Which Reservists Are Recruited Into The Reserved Force
(ROTC) Offers Students A Chance To Study And Serve After They Complete Degree Or To
Participate For A Short Time In The Program Without A Post-College Commitment.

Although Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Has Some Advantages For Students
It Should Not Be Implemented And Made Mandatory In The Philippines As Students May Face
Abuse.Additional Expenses Are Required And It Is Burden On Students Education The (ROTC)
Program Has Failed In Promoting Patriotism And Nationalist Consciousness Among The Youth
But Rather Instilled The Sub-Culture Of Fear Violence And Hatred Among The Broad Ranks Of
The Students The (ROTC) Program Has Its Foundation Rooted In Served Corruption.

1.Training Individuals Who Can Be Called Upon As Reservists During Times Of Need
Providing Valuable Support During Disasters Or Conflicts
2.Prepare College Students For Possible Service In The Defense Establishment During
The Train Officers And Enlisted Personnel For The Reserve Components Of The Armed Forces
Of The Philippines. (AFP)
3.Enhances National Defenses Preparedness Fosters Networking And Camaraderie And
Provides Financial Support For Education The Program Provides World-Class Leadership
Development As Well As Valuable Team Building And Networking Opportunities.
 1.The Commanding Role Of The Military In The ROTC Program Encroaches Upon The
Freedom Of School Administrators To Design And Operate School Programs.
2.It Infringes On The Academic Freedom Of Teachers To Decide On Their Own
Teaching Methods.
3.ROTC Program Is A Clear Violation Of The Liberal Arts Norm In Short Many
Opponents Of ROTC Maintain That No Free And Open University With Any Sense Of
Academic Integrity Or Social Responsibility Would Include ROTC Study In Its Curriculum.
