Background of the Study

Biñan City Senior High School San Antonio Is Located at Biñan City of
Laguna. A Senior High School government establishment that offers TVL track
(Technical Vocational Livelihood) which Holds Different classifications of strands.
The researchers select this study because this will help and benefit them
with their own specialization. The basis of this study is the researchers' own
questions they want to be answered, when it comes to their edge in Preparation
for their Tertiary Education. The Significance and essence of taking Up Computer
Programming as an ICT student runs in their minds since day one. So this issue
to be tackled is important to know the present awareness and thinking pattern of
ICT- Computer Programming students to the importance and Academic Edge of
Taking up their Specialization and to know its effect to their Performance ,holistic
and Intellectual capacity. This issue triggered the researchers to make a study to
clear the titled question that can cause lots of problems by analyzing first the
question of the organization then they gather some information to formulate an
explanation that may help to solve and clarify their questions.

Objectives of the Study

General Objectives:
This study is entitled " Academic Edge of ICT Comprog as field of
specialization in preparation to IT related Tertiary Education among Selected
Computer Programming students of BCSHS-SAC Year 2018-2019" which is
proposed to identify the Thinking pattern of Students and Their insights about the
advantage Of Taking Up ICT- Computer Programming as their specialization and
Its Impact to their academic Performance.

Specific Objectives
1. To determine the demographic profile of the respondents like age, gender and
grade/year
2. To understand the insights of The Selected students in the Specialization they
have chosen

3. To Understand and learn the Academic edge of Taking up ICT- Computer

Assumptions of the Study

This study focuses on Lack of Knowledge and awareness of selected

BCSHS-SAC computer programming students causing Problems. Researchers
assume that because of this type of perspective, some students are less
productive and could not focus on the field they choose that leads to poor
academic performance. Researchers expect that after completing all the required
data, their Problem Solving skills will be enhanced because they will make a
system that will help reduce and eliminate the problem.

Scope and delimitation of the Study

The study is about the difficulties made by the wrong perspectives of

selected students of BCSHS-SAC, Biñan, and Laguna. The researchers will
focus on the thinking patterns of students that lead to the poor academic
performance by means of conducting a study inside BCSHS-SAC in which 10
ICT- Computer Programming students from grade 11 and 12 will be selected as
the respondents. They will be chosen based on the result of the interview the
proponents conducted and their academic records and background submitted to
the advisers.

Significance of the Study

In conducting the study, the proponents believe that findings would benefit the
following:

- The Students. This study will mold and renew their insights and their thinking
pattern about advantage of taking up Computer Programming for Preparation to
Collegiate stage and will help them increase their Learning interest and attain
high level of academic performance.

-The Teachers. These Findings and study will help teachers because they will
resurrect again their values as teachers and their duties to their students. This
will also minimize their constant follow-ups to non-performing students.

-The Parents and Respondents. This study will help them to improve and expand
their Understanding of ICT-COMPROG advantages for tertiary education.

-The Researchers. These Findings will help them become productive and Idealist
by creating System that is needed and required in this study.

-The Future Researchers. They can use This Study to develop a New Concept
and get the idea how to make studies of the same interest.
