Good morning everyone, the honorable judges, teachers, and audience, and don’t forget to

thank God Almighty, for his blessings we can attend this event. I’m also grateful for the
opportunity given, I can stand here to deliver my speech, I would like to introduce myself
first, my name is Gladys Marchria Tarigan, I’m in third grade of junior high school in
Methodist AN- Pancur Batu school.

And now let me tell you my speech.

When we talk about dream, we must think about what we want to do in the future, what we
want to achieve in the future, as a student I think we must already have a dream that we
want to achieve in the future, so that we have a goals in our life. Me, as a student have a
dream that I can be good at math lesson, it was one of my dreams because actually I’m very
weak in math lesson.

And I have another dream that is I want to become a soldier. Why soldier?

Because I see that soldiers are very cool, not just cool, they are also brave and disciplined.
And one more thing that I like about soldier is, they also help people that need help, for
example, like some places were hit by natural disasters, the come and helped the victims,
and I really wanted to do same thing like them. I want myself to be able to help people, I
want myself to be useful to many people.

And the person who introduced me to the soldier was my father, when my father told me a
lot about soldier I was interested, my father and my mother always supports me to reach
my dream, to be a soldier is also my father dream when he is teenager, but he can’t reach it,
so I thought that I should be able to make my father’s and my other family happy and proud
of me because I can make my father’s dream and my dream come true.

And the person who inspired me to become a soldier is my grandfather, he used to be a

soldier, my father said my grandfather was a very disciplined, strict, responsible,
independent and hardworking person. And I want to be like him, I want to be independent
person, so later when I become a leader, I can lead my members well.

I know that achieving my dreams is not an easy thing, there will definitely be many
challenges, and I will always rely to God to lead my life, until I can achieve my dreams.

And the last thing that make me want to be a soldier, I want to make my family proud of
me, and I want to give the best for this Indonesia
