topics discussed included the identification of health disparities and their application in patient care, along
with an overview of fMRI usage in cognitive neuroscience.
• Gained introductory knowledge of the statistical research software, ArcGis Pro, and acquired skills to
categorize codes and use an open database for recognizing trends in public health.

Laboratory of Dr. Ramesh Shivdasani, MD, PhD – Department of Medical Oncology
• Investigated the cellular composition of colonic fibrosis in a murine model by conducting
immunohistochemistry staining and inspection under a fluorescent microscope.
• Participated in a virtual seminar series on diverse medical careers and healthcare in underserved
communities, also took optional introductory programming courses to learn R software.

Laboratory of Dr. Jeanine D’Armiento, MD, PhD – Department of Anesthesiology
• Conducted research utilizing PCR and flow cytometry to investigate the role of the WNT signaling pathway
in the repair process of alveolar epithelial injury in a murine model.
• Studied lung biology, researching the correlation between secreted frizzled-related protein 1 (SFRP-1) and
bronchopulmonary dysplasia in neonates.

Population Health & Clinical Operations Intern May 2021 – August 2021
• Assisted with project ideas and implementation; worked on a signature 90-Day Supply medical adherence
project to promote medicinal adherence in MMP population.
• Called patients and healthcare providers to promote switching from a 30-day supply to a 90-day supply of
medication, created and presented effectiveness to the pharmacy department.
