Summary of Activities: Learning/Insights:
We had our first day of orientation at TGI Fridays at the Ayala Center in Cebu on During this time, I
September 17, 2022. It took approximately 8 hours of orientation with the store challenges; however, I'v

On the 26th day of September 2022, it was my first day as an On the Job Trainee task is very helpful fo
(OJT), and we, together with my co-OJTs, were introduced to the general manager familiar with the reality
(GM), Maam Mariz Dumo. She also introduced us to the staff. After that, she
introduced the floor areas of the store: the dining area, bar area, service area, and
kitchen area. During the tour, Ms. Dumo gave us more ideas on how it works in their
store. It was my first glimpse at how their staff operates. Then after that, I was
assigned to the Front of the House (FOH) as the main training ground. Then one of
their servers discussed the different things inside the dining area, the must-dos and not-
to-dos. She also discussed the following topics: table numbering, cutlery setup, the
proper way to buss out the empty plates of the guests, and the proper way to sanitize
the table. The next day, the assistant manager showed me the standard serving position
and the basic steps for efficiently serving the guests. The next day, after removing the
empty plates, cutlery, and glasses from the table, I sanitized the table before placing the
clean set of cutlery on it. Then, day by day, as I do my assigned task and daily routine
in the dining area as well as my daily routine in the service area, it gives me a tip on
how to serve the food, what its name is, and how to handle it.
The next day, I was assigned to the bar area, and the barista gave me some ideas and
tips on how to make and mix drinks, as well as how to deal with a customer in the bar.
The barista gave me some tips to entertain the guest. I usually do the tasks assigned to
me in the dining room and the bar area as part of my daily routine.
