Test II: Test of Understanding:

1
1. What are the reasons for conducting a room check?

The Guest room inspection ensures that the desired results of an established cleaning system are consistently achieved by the housekeeping
department. The main Purpose of a room inspection is to catch any problems that may have been overlooked during the cleaning before it is found
by the guest and becomes a source of dissatisfaction and complaints.

The Housekeeping department should implement a well-conducted and diplomatic room inspection program. This can also motivate the room
attendants or room maids as the employees/staff take pride in their work and enjoy having an opportunity to set standards for others.

Every guest room must be checked on a daily basis by the housekeeping supervisor, this will help the hotel to attain high guest satisfaction in terms
of room comfort and also for safety reasons. If the floor supervisor is not able to check the room by the end of the shift, the Asst. Executive
housekeeper must do it before releasing the room for guest occupancy.

2. Discuss the steps on making up the bed in Standard/ Three sheets bed make up.

•Things Needed:

*Fitted sheet

*Two flat sheets

*Comforter

*Bedspread or decorative bed scarf

Here is one easy step-by-step process to Triple Sheet a bed.

If using a standard bed & base, fit the Valance to the base before you begin.

1. A fitted or a flat sheet goes on the top mattress, in the usual way.

2. A flat sheet goes on next. Standing at the foot of the bed, shake out the sheet until it lies evenly over the bed. Adjust the sheet until a similar
length hangs down either side of the mattress.Stand at the head of the bed and lift the sheet until the top hem is pulled up to meet the headboard.
Return to the foot of the bed and ensure the sheet is smooth on the bed.

3. The blanket goes on third. Repeat the previous step for the blanket, but the top hem should be about 15 cm (about two hand widths) short of the
headboard.

4. The third flat sheet goes over the blanket. Repeat Step 2 for this top sheet, once again adjusting the sheet until the top hem meets the
headboard.

5. Fold the top of the sheets back 15cm. This is folding just the sheets, not including the blanket.

6. Fold back another 15 cm. This time both the sheets and blankets fold. The result is the sheets are folded twice, but the blanket only once.

7. Tuck in both top sheets and the blanket in the usual way, being careful to create neat corners at the foot of the bed.

8. Place the pillows on the bed.

9. The result is a very white bed.

Enhance your interior design with a Bed Runner with coordinating cushions.

We recommend a quality upholstery fabric that can easily be laundered in-house, keeping laundering costs low.

Keep it simple: Use the same sheeting for all 3 layers. This makes the laundering process simple, allowing for quick and easy storage, sorting and
changing.
