I. Company Background

The Start-Up Academy (FTIC) serves as a stepping stone for young entrepreneurs that has a lot
of bright and capable ideas. It’s mission is to create the next generation of nation builders by creating
innovators, technologists and entrepreneurs. They are academe-based venture builder program where
students aspiring to become entrepreneurs are given a platform to pursue their innovation solutions
and receive support and mentorship as they transform these ideas into successful business ventures.

II. Detailed Description of Project

A. Objective: To be able to create a product for your Start Up business using the lectures and guidelines provided by the
Start Up Academy.

B. Requirements: Students must follow the templates and instructions given by Start Up Academy, have the presenting
skills to pitch their product by the end of the term and have good communication skills with their teammates.

C. Project Timeline:
- given project was done along with the schedule of classes.

D. Tasks : We accomplished all of the class activities and projects given to us by SUA, that includes pitching our final
product.

III. Skills Used

The skill/s that I was able to utilize within the entire internship was my technical and
presentation skills. Such that, I was able to enhance my skills in using MS Office from Word to
Powerpoint since this was what we mainly used during our meetings as we presented our ideas with
fellow interns and mentors. My presentation skills were also used since we had to pitch and demo our
product at the end of the term. I was able to communicate and present the key features of our product,
the mentors gave us wonderful feedbacks which overall helped me know a lot in creating a start-up
business.

IV. Skills Learned

Pitching Skills, Proper Dressing Code and many more effective was to pitch your idea/product.
For me, presentation and pitching are two different things now. Presentation is just vaguely presenting
something whereas pitching, persuasion and confidence is where it takes place. Through SUA, I was able
to know what to do during pitching and how to do it properly, from the minor details of what you wear
to the idea of presenting yourself infront of potential investors. I also learned the skill of a start-up
business technopreneur, it may be the basics but SUA taught me all I need to build a foundation in my
business in the future.

V. Describe your Internship Experience

Personally, my overall experience with my internship has it’s own fair share of difficulties and
this is mainly composed of the times where my internet connection was so unstable that I had to email
the company all the time just to get excused and they were kind enough to assist me through all of that.
At first, I was very reluctant with how my internship will turn out since this was far from my field of
expertise. However, I found myself loving the journey with such amazing mentors. It would have been
even better if we had coaches assigned to us. I’ve acquired new skills that I can make use of in the future
as well as it helped me realize that there was a small part of me interested in start-up businesses which I
couldn’t have known if it weren’t for SUA.

VI. Conclusion, Comments, and Suggestions

A. Conclusion

In conclusion, my internship experience in startup academy was very good considering the fact
that we are all currently facing difficulties at this time of need. Despite that, Start-Up Academy was able
to provide us proper meetings which helped us gain knowledge from. They were very accommodating
and considerate to us interns which I really loved.

B. Comments

Factors that affected the entire internship would probably be the schedules and stability in
internet connection among both the interns and mentors. There were a lot of times where we had to
pause for awhile and even repeat instructions just to make sure that everyone understood because
some of us were lagging. But they were able to manage that and was very responsive with our every
concern always there to help us when we need it. They were very considerate too especially for those
who have major subjects that sometimes makes students take exams at the same day of our events in
the internship.

C. Suggestions

Since my overall experience with my internship was pretty good, I don’t have much to suggest
with regards to their management apart from letting groups have coaches along the way. That way, they
can comfortably ask for details which I personally think will help them greatly in their future pitch. This
one is more related to their technical side, I know Zoom App is the main platform to be used however, I
hope they can have an orientation with how the app works or at least tell the interns the common
controls in zoom app since there are some technologically challenged such as myself who had to Google

and watch Youtube videos just to set it up which still entirely depends on the perseverance of the intern
to learn.
