Objectives
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
a) Understand the laws and policies in Sexual and Reproductive Health
services in the Philippines
b) grasp the significance of roles of hormones involved in the female
and male reproductive systems towards the development of laws
and policies
c) actively engaged in promoting awareness on the laws and policies
in Sexual and Reproductive Health services
At the end of the session, learners will be able to:

Subject Matter
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in the Philippines
Key Concept
 Access to sexual and reproductive health and rights provides medical care and comprehensive sexually
education, which gives vital information about learners’ sexualities, sensuality and gender identities
and expression.
 Fostering know-hows on the laws and policies regarding sexual and reproductive health services gives
learners an empowerment on their health and social responsibility.
 Laws and policies on sexual and reproductive health is based on valid processes the human body has
manifested through Science and research.
Procedure
Pre-Reading Activities - First Period
- The teacher will introduce the objectives, subject matter and the key concept of the topic. (5mins)
- Ask the learners and write their thoughts or ideas in their journal notebook, 1. What would happen if
the ovary and testes produce egg and sperm cells? 2. How does the human life begin? (10min)
- Sharing of thoughts or ideas. (10mins)
- Hand over the Reading Materials to the learners, titled “Submission to the United Nations (UN)
Assesses the Philippines’ Progress on SRHR Issues”

- Let the learners read for the remaining time. (25mins)
During Reading Activities – Second Period
- Let the learners continue reading while using their pocket dictionary/cellphone as their reference for
some unfamiliar words that they will write on their journal notebook. (25mins)
Post-Reading Activities
- Let the learners answer the guide question on their journal notebook. (15mins)
- Sharing time: Let some of the learners share their answer to the class. (10mins)
Valuing and Journal Writing – Third Period
- The teacher will present a short video documentary of STD in the Philippines. (15mins)

guide people to lessen the number of STD cases based from the presented video.
- Allow time to write or record thoughts on their journal notebook.(20mins)
- Sharing options: offer learners the chance to share reflections. (10mins)
- Conclude by emphasizing the critical role of understanding and implementing laws and policies on
reproductive health as a learner and a citizen. (5mins)
