B. Reviewing the Previous Lesson Review!

This game is called “What Am I?”

MECHANICS:

1. Group the students into 4 groups.

2.Their groups will be called HOUSES: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff
and Slytherin
3. Each group will be given illustration board and chalk.
4. The teacher will ask questions presented on the screen and each group will
give the correct answer on the questions being ask.
5. Each group will use the chalk to write their answer in the illustration board.
6. Once the teacher says “Raise your Boards.”, each group will raise their
answers.
7. Each group who will get a correct answer will be given points.

QUESTIONS:
1. The MIDLINE THEOREM The segment whose endpoints are the
midpoints of two sides of a triangle is parallel to and half as long as
the third side.
2. A PARALLELOGRAM is a quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel
sides.
3. A QUADRILATERAL is defined as a two-dimensional shape with
four sides, four vertices, and four angles.
4. The MIDPOINT is the middle point of a line segment.
5. PARALLEL LINES are lines in the same plane that go in the same
direction and never intersect.
6. A three-sided polygon that consists of three edges and three
vertices. TRIANGLE
7. Formula of getting the Perimeter of a Triangle. P= a+b+c

C. Establishing a Purpose for the Game: 4 pics 1 word

Lesson
Mechanics:
1. The teacher will present four pictures linked by one word; the
player's aim is to work out what the word is, from a set of letters
given below the pictures.
2. Each group who can the correct answer will earn points.

D. Presentation and Development of A Base 1 B

the Lesson

Leg Leg

D Base 2 C

Questions:
1. What can you say about the trapezoid?
2. Do we have a parallel line?
Define trapezoid: a quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides.

Remember:
1. The parallel sides of trapezoid are called bases.
2. The non- parallel sides of trapezoid are called legs.
3. The angles formed by a base and a leg are called base angles.

Theorem 1: The base angles of an isosceles trapezoid are congruent.

What is the value of x?

What is the value of x?

Theorem 2: The diagonals of an isosceles trapezoid are congruent.

If WY = 2y +6 and XZ = y+ 8, what is the
Value of y? and the value WY and XZ?

D C

Theorem 3: The Median of a trapezoid is parallel to the bases, and its length
is equal to half of the sum of the lengths of the bases.
7 Using theorem 3, what is the value of x?

Examples:
M A

L V

H T

1.
Given: <M= 80o
What is the measure of <A? How about the <H and <T?

2. Given: Ma= 12 cm, and HT= 28 cm

What is the measure of LV?

3. Given: If MT= 3x- 10 and AH= x + 8

What is the value of x? How about the MT and AH?

E. Developing Mastery (leads to MNRP is an isosceles trapezoid with bases PR and MN.
Formative Assessment) Find the indicated measures.
M N
O

P R

1. MR = 6 cm, find NP.

2. NR = 9 cm, find MP.
3. NP = 2x + 3, MR = 4x – 5, find NP and MR.

F. Finding practical application of

concepts in daily lives

Ask students what they have noticed based on the pictures.

Explain them the real- life application of the trapezoid.

G. Making generalization and Theorem 1: The ________ of an isosceles trapezoid are congruent.

Theorem 2: The diagonals of an isosceles trapezoid are _________.

Theorem 3: The _______ of a trapezoid is parallel to the bases, and its length
is equal to half of the sum of the lengths of the bases.

In solving Problems involving Trapezoid, it is important to remember and use

the properties to find the measures of angles, sides and other quantities
involving trapezoid.

V. EVALUATION

Given: Quadrilateral POST is an isosceles trapezoid with OS │ │PT. ER is its median.

a. If OS = 12 cm and ER = 15 cm, how long is PT?
b. If OS = 3x – 2, PT = 2x + 10 and ER = 14, how long is each base?
c. c. If m ⦟ O = 58⁰ what is the measure of ⦟S? ⦟ P and ⦟ T?
d. d. If m⦟P = 2x + 5 and m ⦟ O = 3x – 10, what is m ⦟ T?

VI. ASSIGNMENT

Give an example of things that has a shaped of a trapezoid.

VII. REFLECTION (Please accomplish after execution for your lesson)

a. No. of learners who earned 80% in the evaluation

b. No. of learners who require additional activities for

remediation

c. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of learners who

have caught up the lesson.

d. No. of learners who continue to require remediation

e. Which of my teaching strategies worked well? Why

did these work?

f. What difficulties did I encounter which my

Resource/Cooperating Teacher can help me solve?

g. What Innovation or localized materials did I

use/discover which I wish to share with other pre-
