POLICE BLOTTER
On or about 5:30 P.M of June 9, 2023 a cellphone call received by this police station
from Kristine Leaño, who reported about that a shooting incident in the Campus of
Cagayan State University Brgy. Centro 2, Sanchez Mira Cagayan, upon receipt of the
report, the team led by Pmsg. Normie John Torres Proceeded at the said place and
upon arrival, the said team together with Kristine Leaño saw the victim lying with his
blood, who was identified as Jonathan Marin, 20 years old, single, student, and a
resident of Brgy. Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. Initial investigation disclosed that
that the victim and suspect was drinking liquor and they had an argument which stops
them from drinking. While the victim was walking at the back of the engineering building
to pee, the suspect followed him and little by little approaching the victim, suddenly shot
him thrice. The suspect was arrested at his house during hot-pursuit operation
conducted, the identified suit of the suspect was inside of their house after he did the
commission of the crime and recovered. Said suspects were temporarily detained at the
custodial facility of Sanchez Mira Police Station while waiting for the release of the
inquest resolution.

AFFIDAVIT OF WITNESS

I Kristine Leaño, 20 years old, single, student and a resident of Brgy. Callungan,
Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. After having been duly sworn to in accordance with the law do
hereby and state.

That on June 9, 2023 at about 6:00 P.M while walking at the canteen, I heard a
multiple gunshot after that I ran to look for where the gunshot is and found that the victim
was lying in the ground and the suspect ran away from the scene.

There I saw the victim have gunshot at his leg and back.
That I executed this affidavit statement to atleast the veracity of aforementioned
fact and support file charges in the court against the suspect.

FACT OF THE CASE:

On or about 6:00 P.M. of May 9, 2023, an alleged shooting incident transpired


along the Cagayan State University, Brgy. Centro 2, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. A
concerned citizen in the person of Kristine Leaño, 20 years old, single, student and a
resident of Brgy. Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan reported in this station. The victim
was identified as one Jonathan Marin, 20 years old, single, student, and a resident of
Brgy. Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. The suspect was identified as Marshall D.
Teach, 22 years old, single, student, and a resident of Brgy. Tokitoc, Sanchez Mira,
Cagayan. According to Ms. Kristine Leaño, while she was on his way to the canteen, she
heard a three consecutive gunshot from the back of the engineering building. Curious of
what she heard she peek at the side of the canteen and she saw a student lying on the
ground. She also added that the suspect was running with a gun in his hand going to the
exit gate of Cagayan State University.

DISPOSITION: For referral to the investigation section.

SUBJECT: Spot Report re; Shooting Incident

DATE: June 9, 2023

1. Reference: Police Blotter Entry No. SMPS - SR - 2023 - 0024

2. On or about 6:00 P.M. of June 9, 2023, an alleged shooting incident transpired along
the Cagayan State University, Brgy. Centro 2, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan, wherein the
victim was identified as one Jonathan Marin, 20 years old, single, student, and a resident
of Brgy. Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. The suspect was identified as Marshall D.
Teach, 22 years old, single, student, and a resident of Brgy. Tokitoc, Sanchez Mira,
Cagayan.

3. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the victim and suspect was drinking
liquor and they had an argument which stops them from drinking. While the victim was
walking at the back of the engineering building to pee, the suspect followed him and little
by little approaching the victim, suddenly shot him thrice. The victim tries to run and call
help but was unable to do anything because he was shot at his leg. The victim later died
on the spot. The suspect was identified wearing a white T- shirt, blue maong pants,
adidas rubber shoes, and about 5’5” to 5’7” in height, big body and fair complexion. After
the commission of the crime the suspect fled immediately toward Brgy. Nagrangtayan of
this Municipality direction riding his motor vehicle green silver with a plate number 4-
2345. Recovered pieces of evidence at the crime scene were a 3 cartridge of caliber
9mm gun and blood.

4. Further investigation conducted resulted in the identification of one witness. Interviews


were conducted by this station with the student who saw the crime. Based on the
investigation conducted by this station, the motive of the incident was due to jealousy.
The witness was invited to this station and executed her statement. Computerized facial
composite of the suspect will be illustrated based on the description of the witness. On
or about 7:00 in the morning, June 10, 2023, Pssg. Dexter Ian Ponciano, Officer-on-
case, proceeded to Cagayan State University, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan to interview the
witness.

5. Continuous investigation is still conducted by this station to find leads regarding to the
said incident. Any information involved relative to same will be immediately forwarded to
that office as soon as obtained.

2. This pertains to homicide transpired along the school of Cagayan State University,
Sanchez Mira, Cagayan around 6:00 P.M of May June 9,2023 wherein the victim the
victim was identified as one Jonathan Marin, 20 years old, single, student, and a resident
of Brgy. Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. The suspect was identified as Marshall D.
Teach, 22 years old, single, student, and a resident of Brgy. Tokitoc, Sanchez Mira,
Cagayan.

liquor bottle with fingerprint then send it to the Fingerprint Identification and Examination.

5. Continuous investigation is still conducted by this station to find leads regarding to the
said incident. Any information involved relative to same will be immediately forwarded to
that office as soon as obtained.

6. The suspect was arrested at his house during hot-pursuit operation conducted, the
identified suit of the suspect was inside of their house after he did the commission of the
crime and recovered. He is now under the custody of this station for investigation and
proper disposition.

2. This pertains to shooting incident transpired along the school of Cagayan State
University, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan around 6:00 P.M of May June 9,2023 wherein the
victim the victim was identified as one Jonathan Marin, 20 years old, single, student, and
a resident of Brgy. Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan. The suspect was identified as
Marshall D. Teach, 22 years old, single, student, and a resident of Brgy. Tokitoc,
Sanchez Mira, Cagayan.

3. On June 11, 2023, result of the Fingerprint Examination conducted by the Fingerprint
Examination and Identification Laboratory Office yielded positive result for that the finger
were matched with the suspect.

4.On June 04, 2023, a criminal complaint for Murder under Art 248 as amended by R.A
no. 7659 was referred against suspects for inquest proceedings at the Office of the
Prosecutor, Cagayan. Said suspects were temporarily detained at the custodial facility of
Sanchez Mira Police Station while waiting for the release of the inquest resolution.

1. On June 12, 2023, a criminal information for Murder under Art 248 as amended
by RA 7659 was filed against Marshall D. Teach at the Regional Trial Court,
Branch 56, Cagayan with Honorable Monkey D. Luffy as Presiding Judge with
no recommended Bail. Subsequently, a commitment order was issued by Hon.
Judge Monkey on the same date. Marshall D. Teach were committed by
personnel of this office at the Cagayan Provincial Jail on the same date.
