GENERAL SAFETY PROCEDURES
UNIT II PROCEDURES

1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to ensure the customer the safety of the material
during receipt and usage of material by the customer.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable right from the receipt of raw material such as fabric,
packing materials and accessories etc., at the company premises and to the delivery of
material to the customer.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY

HR Executive is primarily responsible in coordination with the security staff,


section supervisors.

4.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 The Company is protected by concrete wall. Adequate light is provided during night.
Locking devices are provided on all doors, windows, and gates.

4.2 The Company is well guarded by security staff 24 hours a day 365 days in a year.

4.3 Security staff is posted at the gate all the time and have a full around the company for
every one hour.

4.4 Security staff allows only company employees and enters other persons such as
suppliers, Govt officials after entering the details in the register.

4.5 Security staffs check personally each out going employee whether he/she carries any
material without authorization.

4.6 Employees are issued with employee identification card with name, Employee code no
and photo.

4.7 Others are issued with visitors identification card on entry and the details are
recorded in the visitors identification card on entry and the details are recorded in
the visitors register and they are guided to concerned person.

4.8 The handling of Material is done with great care so that quality of the material is
preserved in good condition during all stages.

4.9 The flow of material is watched carefully by the section supervisors by checking
frequent round inside the departments.

4.10 Apart from this with the help of close circuit TV installed at prominent places such as
the checking section, finishing and packing section the material handling is ensured for
its quality and safety.

4.11 Packing of material is done in the presence of company’s supervisor

4.12 After finishing and packing some packages are opened randomly and after completion
of packing each is lot is inspected before dispatch for all aspects covering quality,
quantity, packing, weaving etc., inspected visually for the presence of any other
material.

4.13 In some cases to meet legal and statutory requirements Government officials visit and
open some packages for its genuineness and ensure for the safety.

4.14 At the end of the working hours the section In charges ensures the handling of
Measuring and any other equipments used during usage are returned by the
employees so as to inadvertent packing of such equipments inside the packages.

4.15 Before dispatch, the containers are checked to ensure for its quality such as
cleanliness, condition of the containers for the presence of holes, smell, etc., and the
same is recorded in the register.

4.16 In case of open trucks the truck condition is checked and recorded.

4.17 It is ensured that the materials are covered fully by tarpaulin in case of open trucks.

4.18 In case of containers stuffing government officials visits the company and sealed the
container after verification.

4.19 All the employees are given training about the security procedures during their
induction and their service periodically.

4.20 Production Manager verifies security operations and reviews the general security
procedures being followed periodically for continual improvement.
