Paragraph for question Nos. 15 to 16
When Heisenberg considered the limits of how precisely we can measure the properties of an
electron or any other microscopic particle. He determined that there is a fundamental limit to how
closely we can measure both position and momentum. The more accurately we measure momentum
of a particle the less accurately we can determine its position. This is summed in what we can

Paragraph for question Nos. 17 to 18

Many chemists had dreamed of having an equation that describes relation of a gas molecule to its
environment such as pressure or temperature. The Ideal Gas Law is simply the combination of all Simple
Gas Laws (Boyle's Law, Charles' Law, and Avogadro's Law), and so learning this one means that you have
learned them all. With the ideal gas law, we can use the relationship between the amounts of gases (in
moles) and their volumes (in liters) to calculate the stoichiometry of reactions involving gases, if the pressure
and temperature are known. The ideal gas law can be used to calculate volume of gases consumed or
produced. The ideal-gas equation frequently is used to interconvert between volumes and molar amounts in
chemical equations

4 −R 4+R 2R 2R

18. Pressure of 1 g ideal gas ‘X’ at 300 K is 2 atm. When 2 g of another gas ‘Y’ is introduced in the same
vessel at same temperature, the pressure become 3 atm. The correct relationship between molar
mass of ‘X’ and ‘Y’ is:
(A) MY = 2MX (B) MY = 4MX (C) MX = 4 MY (D) MY = 6 Mx
