Rationale of the Action Plan:

The 5-Day District-based In-Service Training for teachers on the above-cited

topics conducted on January 24-26, 29-30, 2024 has contributed to the acquisition of
conceptual and procedural knowledge on how to reengineer the participants’ teaching
competence through facilitation of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Utilizing the
Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome (SOLO) Model, observing the 4Rs of Child
Protection Policy, innovating reading strategy for the implementation of Catch-Up
Fridays and the utilization of SilverTek LMS in the classroom instruction and
assessment. The lectures and presentations of resource speakers has addressed the
needs to further understand the skills and attitude to be practiced in order to level-up
the performance in the classroom. However, the activities for each topic is very short
to give way for workshop specially on developing HOTS questions in every level for
teacher’s needs. In order to apply the knowledge gained from the INSET, concepts and
process of the training topics will be re-echoed in smaller Learning Action Cell
sessions and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) after the actual observations of the
application of learning among teacher participants.

Objectives of the Action Plan:

By the end of 4 STAR Observations and 4 FGDs, teachers will acquire procedural
knowledge and technical skills on developing HOTS-SOLO questions encoded in the
SilverTek LMS and gain technical know-how on how to report child abuse/bullying
incidences in school.

PCs.
